I was in the car for 6 hours on a trip so I had the time to make two whole chapters.
You're welcome :)
Some bad trigger stuff happens so don't read if you're sensitive.
Peter's P.O.V
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
I opened my eyes and groaned. I searched desperately for the origin of the noise wanting to shut it off and go back to sleep. My eyes landed on my phone. I quickly wriggled out of Loki's warm arms and picked up the phone.
It was Mr. Stark. I got his number from the receptionist the last time I was there.
I sighed and answered.
"Hello?" I asked rubbing my eyes.
"Peter? This is Natasha. We need you to come to the tower. It's an emergency."
"What kind of emergency?" I asked, my exhaustion gone. I sat up and Loki moaned next to me.
I face-palmed and blushed furiously. I heard snickers from Clint on the other end and turned even more red.
"Tony lost his memory. All of it," Nat answered from the other end, apparently unfazed.
I cursed and started shaking Loki to wake him up.
He sat up and rubbed his eyes. "What?"
I covered the speaker so the heros on the other end couldn't hear.
"I'm on a call with the Avengers. They say that Tony lost his memory. Like all of it," I said and Loki scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion.
Realization dawned on his face and he sighed. "When I erased his memory I must've made a mistake in the spell and erased everything instead of just that one memory," He grimaced. "I'll have to come with you to the tower to fix it."
I shook my head. "They'll figure out your identity."
He glanced around the room and stood grabbing a black face mask. "I'll wear this and the cap from earlier."
I bit my lip and considered. "Alright," I said and sighed. "But if there's even a little bit of danger, you have to leave. Teleport away or something."
Loki nodded and I removed my hand from the speaker. "I'm coming to the tower. I'll be there in a few minutes," I paused looking up at Loki, "And I'm bringing a friend. He's an expert in the area."
I quickly hung up the phone.
I made eye-contact with him and a million possibilities crowded my mind. My eyes teared up. He quickly pulled me into a hug and I gripped him tightly.
"What if they find you? What if they kill you or throw you in jail? I can't loose you! Not like all the others!" I cried into his chest. He broke the hug and took my face in his hands.
"You're not going to loose me. If they do capture me I know that you will do everything in you power to get me back," Loki said wiping tears off my face. "Plus I have these cool powers to break me out. So don't worry okay?"
I nodded drawing in a shaky breath and willed myself to stop trembling. "I'm sorry. That's the second time I've broken down on you," I whispered feeling ashamed and weak.
"Hey don't worry about it. Now let's go get Tony's memory back."
~~~
I stumbled forward and fell over. Loki started laughing. "Give a little warning before you teleport!" I grumbled standing and rubbing my backside.
"Sorry!" Loki wheezed, still laughing. His voice was muffled from the mask.
I turned to the hallway that led to the penthouse's living room. I started walking down it and Loki followed me, still wheezing.
I rolled my eyes. "It wasn't that funny. Calm down."
Loki smirked. "How do you know, princess?" I sighed and started jogging, eager to see the others.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Loki yelped and started running after me. We both burst into the living room and everyone turned to us in surprise. I saw a few of them looking at Loki suspiciously but none brought it up.
"Hello? Which one is Peter?" Mr. Stark asked, tugging on his sleeve. I brought a hand up to mouth.
"Mr. Stark?"
Honestly I was scared. Where was the confident playboy billionaire that was always so sure of himself? How could he not remember me?
Loki took my hand and squeezed it tightly.
It's okay. He echoed in my mind and I took a deep breath.
"Do you think you can fix it?" I asked looking up at Loki.
He looked at me and nodded. "I should do it in another room though," He said.
"Why?" Nat asked suspiciously and Loki looked up at her.
"Because any slight disturbance while I'm working on him will affect his memories," Loki lied smoothly, without missing a beat.
'Damn no wonder he's called the god of lies.' I thought smiling affectionately.
"How do you know what you're doing?" Clint asked squinting his eyes, as if trying to see through the mask.
"Because I used to work with people who escaped from Hydra and I helped them get their memories back," Loki said and Clint nodded in approval.
When he mentioned Hydra I flinched.
Hard. I let go of Loki's hand and kept my head down. My spidey sense let me know that everyone was staring at me. I tried my hardest to keep everything inside but, regardless, a stray tear slid down my face. My breath hitched.
I quickly wiped it away. "Go ahead and get Mr. Stark's memory back. I need some fresh air," I said to Loki, willing myself not to cry.
Look at me. Loki said in my mind. I shook my head trying to force Loki out. He grabbed my face instead trying to force me to look at him but I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Let me go!" I cried and tried to shove him off but he wouldn't budge.
Look at me! Loki repeated.
No! I yelled back. I tried struggling from his grip but he didn't relent.
Was it because I mentioned Hydra? He asked.
I froze and whimpered.
I effectively blocked him out before a wave of blocked off memories came flooding back.
My arm being sawed off and stitched back together. Getting electrocuted over and over until I could no longer remember my name. Being dunked in a tub of acid, screaming as my skin burned off. Shooting and killing innocent people, their screams echoing off the walls. Being injected with poison for speaking out of turn. Being stabbed and shot for target practice.
Somehow I managed to escape from Loki's grip and stumble out of the room. I could barely hear the thumping footsteps behind me. Or the wind in my ears as I jumped out the window. I released a web and swung from building to building until I reached the ground.
I crumpled to the floor of an allyway and sobbed as each and every horrible memory made it's way across my vision.
A needle pricked my skin from behind and I promptly passed out.
