They fought and they lost!
We lost Baji that day.
The news came back to me not long after. Takemichi called me over and I had seen it all over all of their faces. Beaten,bleeding, bruised they had lost they had lost so much.
As I looked through the crowd I saw this lifeless body in Chifuyu arms.

I ran beside him and he was still talking. Talking to Takemichi and then his auburn eyes met mine. "Kay" his voice cracked as he coughed up blood.
"Baji!" I yelled pleading for him to just stay a bit longer.
"You have to make it. You have to pull through! Please Baji!" I cried out, reaching for his hand.
He gave a soft smile as his eyes fluttered. His grip on my hand tightened before it fell limp.
"Take care of Mikey. The founding members of Toman have always been a treasure to me. That includes you Kay. You know I've always had a crush on you."
Then life fell from Baji body, his hand slipped out of mine.
Everything felt like it was in slow motion. As Baji eyes shut for the last time that smile on his face and the grip releasing from my hand. It felt like I had been holding my breath. As I continued to gasp for air.
