One thing that Lily admired about the performing arts were the costumes. Laces, ruffles, corsets and dresses. But she was also grateful for the tights and shirts. It was much easier to get into character when you wore a costume and applied makeup. It was much easier to pretend you were someone else. But it was impossible to hide her emotions when she was planning to uncover a mystery.

"Annie, Jessie and Janet will stay in Brooks and get information about the previous magazines from Lady A while Noah and I will try to find something in New York" said Lily. "I don't understand. Why would she be in New York? Does she have a spy in town?" asked Janet. This hadn't crossed any of their minds. "Add it to your list of jobs," said Noah.

It didn't help that Mr. and Mrs. Blanc seemed extra observant. "Why are you searching up the New York library? About...secret passages?" asked Mrs. Blanc one afternoon. Lily had no idea how to answer her. "It just...seemed......fun?" she answered lamely. It was a miracle that her mother actually bought it. The days slowly passed and the Blanc's and the Canterbury's were dropped off at the airport. While their family members looked excited, the 15-year-olds were slightly nervous. Lily's luggage gave a thud as it disappeared into the luggage room. It seemed nervous as she was. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, we will start boarding shortly". There was no backing away now.

Meanwhile, the Brooks group (the name was decided by Jessie, much to Janet's distaste) were in the public library. Annie thought there was some kind of connection to all the libraries, either that or Off-script loved books. They were looking through old magazines. "Look at all of this" Jessie said, looking at the 'ONE DIRECTION' magazine. "The actors' secrets" read Annie, snorting. They did manage to find a folder filled with old off-script magazines. While Annie and Jessie caught up on that, Janet looked at the titles. "The New York Public Library" she read and took the book of its shelf. One of the pages were dog eared. Frowning, she checked the page. There was a piece of paper that was typed in bold letters.

Janet stared at the note. She quickly took a picture from her phone and kept the book aside. "You need to come see this" she whispered to Jessie and Annie. "Just a second...I can't believe that Mrs. Turningham actually called the cops on a cop that accidentally stepping on her favourite cat. Apparently, they had quite a crazy relationship-"Jessie blabbed and pouted when Annie snatched the magazine out of her hand with a scolding look. Janet took the perplexed friends to the shelf to show them the note. There was slight problem.

The book was no longer there.
