"I can't believe cat loving Mrs. Turninghum was a spoilt girl. I mean, I can't imagine her lie that" Annie shook her head. "She doesn't seem too scared by the fact that Lady A is back. But if she and the rest of the town know this, why didn't anyone suspect your mom?" asked Jessie. "She's the mayor, either nobody thought she had it in her, or they were too afraid to cross her" Janet shrugged.
"WAIT UP!" yelled a voice. The three girls turned around to find Daniel running towards them. "I shouted for ages! You three must be deaf" he said, shaking his head while panting. "Today's the day Josh gives updates to Ginerva. Luke said that they'll help us confront your mom"
"So soon?" asked Janet shocked. "It's now or never" muttered Annie. She hadn't made up her mind if she should punch the mayor or not, but she figured it'll be a surprise, even for herself. "Well do you have a plan?" asked Jessie. "Yeah, I have a plan".
"Is it a good plan?".
There was a long pause.
"I have a plan" Daniel said firmly as the girls groaned.
In the Blanc house, Lily was on the table frowning. She was writing a mind map about Lady A when Noah disappeared to the kitchen. Her parents had already gone to work and her mother wouldn't be back till six so Luke and Josh were sitting silently in the living room, like misbehaved children in time out. "NOAH! I NEED YOUR HELP WITH THIS" she yelled and found Noah relaxing in the kitchen with a jam tart in his hand.
"What are you doing?" Lily asked in disbelief.
"Eating" Noah replied.
"Yes, I can see that. You decide to raid our kitchen when we're trying to come up with a plan" Lily accused.
"Ok...first of all, you didn't say the food was off limits. Second, I didn't raid your kitchen. Third, I'm hungry and this might be the last time I'll ever eat" Noah defended himself.
"You're such an optimist" said Janet sarcastically who had just entered through the back door. "Lily, your brother does not have a plan," said Jessie. "I do" argued Daniel.
"I can't believe I'm letting a bunch of kids do this" said Josh, shaking his head. He grabbed the other tart that Noah had and bit into it as Noah looked at him, crestfallen. "Let's come up with a plan." said Luke. "That is what I was saying for the past few hours" said Annie, rolling her eyes at Daniel. "Do we have an exit strategy?" asked Josh, thinking about his daughter. "What exit strategy?" asked Jessie. "Oh great, we're all going to die." said Josh. "We aren't...IF we can stop bantering and start making a plan." said Lily.
