Everyone had left the house and made a little camp ground on the mountains. They settled there in preparation for the battle. Oriana was shaking most of the time. Were Alice and Jasper really going to come back? Was she going to survive the battle or would she end up dead?
Everyone was outside having a bonfire while Oriana stayed up in a tree watching the stars to try and calm herself.
She overheard Edward talking to Carlisle about the battle.
"I can't help thinking, all these people are putting their lives in danger because I fell in love with a human." Edward sighed.
"You found your mate, you deserve to be happy." Carlisle assured him.
"But at what cost?" He asked.
"Everyone here has something to fight for. I certainly do." Carlisle smiled at Esme.
There was a long wait.
"Carlisle, I've never thanked you. For this extraordinary life." Edward managed to get out.
They looked at each other.
Oriana knew what they meant by that look. There was no need to say, "thank you".
(Short chapter but next chapter is the battle!!!)
