"And Frollo gave the child a cruel name. A name that means half-formed, Quasimodo."

The screams could be heard on the other side of the door when Claude was close to opening it, the dungeon was full of criminals. Thieves, murderers, and gypsies were tortured until they cry in regret. It was music for Claude's ears, but it was going to be a serenade when he headed to Pierre Gringoire's cell. Claude saw him there, sitting on the floor, dirtied, cold and tired.  Claude couldn't help but smile at how Pierre looked. Pierre lifted his head and stared at Claude.

Claude: I hope you are comfortable in your new home, and not disturb your fellow neighbors.

Pierre: How did you ever hold a grudge all these years? Why such hatred? It's not her fault she chose me.

Claude: You are right, it's not hers alone, but yours as well. You both used me, decided to break me. But I have to thank you both for showing me my father's way.

Pierre: You falsely accused him and killed him. Now you thank his heritage? Are you mental?

Claude: I am not mad. You and Maria were, when you summoned a demon to raise yourselves.

Pierre: My son...Where is he? Where is Maria?! What have you done to them!

Claude: Silence now. You will join your beloved bride in a few weeks, I will take good care of the half formed...

"No,no you monster!! We were your friends! She loved you!" Pierre screamed when Frollo thought of a name for the boy. "Quasimodo" he said as he heard the siblings whisper the boy's new name. It was cruel even for someone as innocent as the boy. "Do not worry, I will take good care of him, and you can write all the poems you'd like to your bride, I'll make sure my servants bfing you enough paper"

Pierre started crying, hunching and looking down, showing how broken he was knowing he lost his family and everything he fought for. He confessed he wanted to leave Notre Dame for a better place to be a poet and to raise their child together. His story and wishes didn't reach Claude's dark heart, he just left, back to the cathedral. He knew justice was served and his parents can rest peacefully, and Notre Dame was finally his.
