"Finn!" I jogged up to the boy that was sifting through the wreckage. He just threw me a side glance before going back to sifting. This time, I decided to try a different approach when talking to Finn. My past efforts haven't worked, so it's time to try something new. I put my hand up to my mouth and made a noise like I was talking into a radio. "This is Earth Command Center. Can I speak to Finn Collins? Is there a Finn Collins? Over."

There's a small smile that's trying to make his way onto Finn's face. "Finn Collins is not here."

My face fell the tiniest bit that Finn wasn't playing along. Nonetheless, I kept the act up. "Are you sure? Because I am staring at something that pretty closely resembles one Finn Collins." Finn doesn't reply or say anything. I turn my voice more serious, "Finn, you're acting like I'm some stranger who barely knows you. Talk to me. I don't want to yell or snap at you. Just talk. I know you're not yourself."

"Maybe that's because our friends are still missing." Finn replies coldly.

I lowered my voice. "We're gonna get them back, Finn."

"We're wasting time." Finn said. "Our friends could be dying right now, and we're stuck here."

"Because we're trying to save this girl." I fired back.

"We should be saving our friends." Finn muttered.

I let out a small scoff at what Finn said — he thinks this is a waste of time. Not replying, I turn back and storm off to where I left Bellamy.

The makeshift rope was ready; it was mostly made out of seatbelts we found. But were we ready? And now the question was: who's going down there to get her?

"I will." I spoke up. "I'll go down there and get her."

As one can imagine, there were tons of protest against it, two in particular.

My brother took a step towards me, shaking his head. "No. Absolutely not, you're not going."

I met John's eyes. "Yes, I am."

"No, you're not." Bellamy was the one to speak up this time. I turned to face him. "Your brother's right, you're not doing this. I am."

I let out a deep breath. "It makes more sense for me to do it. I'm lighter. Therefore, I will be easier to get down there and pull back up. No offense Bellamy, but you're not a light guy — I don't mean that in a bad way, I'm just saying, I'll be easier to pull up."

Bellamy didn't falter, even after my little ramble. "Jo, you're not going. End of discussion."

I rolled my eyes at how annoyingly persistent Bellamy was being. "Yes I—"
