After Abby finished my check-up and gave me the all-clear for both my head and my stomach, I was escorted back to lock-up via the same guard, and that's where I've been since. Several hours have passed since then, and during that time, Kane had left for a short period for reasons I did not know. He was back now and had been for a while, sitting with his back against the cell wall, tracing the symbol of the Commander's coalition branded on his arm. I sat next to him with my legs crossed beneath me, watching as Kane traced the brand.

For a moment, Kane stopped and stared at the brand before turning to me and speaking with a voice barely above a whisper. "After the execution and after you get out, I want you to tell Miller and Harper that there are to be no plans. Tell them they have to follow Pike no matter what — that includes you too."

My eyes went down to the ground as a breath left my mouth."I knew that was coming. I just didn't know when." I could feel Kane eyeing the side of my head, probably wondering what I meant by that. "I know you, Kane. You don't want to, but you've excepted your," as I spoke the word, I used air quotes. "consequences. And you don't want anyone else dying trying to stop Pike. Did I miss anything, or did I get it all?"

When I looked back up at him, I could see the faintest smile come on Kane's face. "You're right. I don't want anyone else to die. that's why I'm telling you that all plans need to be off."

"Kane, you're crazy if you think I'll just let Pike continue to rule as a dictator." I persisted. "You know how stubborn I am, so there's no point in trying to convince me otherwise."

The older man continued to look at me, realizing that I was right; if I did get out of lock-up, you bet your ass that I'm going to try and stop Pike, preferably not being killed in the process. After another minute Kane when back to tracing the coalition brand on his arm. He continued to do so for another five minutes before Lincoln, who had been resting on the bench beside us, spoke.

"It could've worked." He said, shifting his eyes from me to Kane, the former turning his head.

"Death can be an act of unity, too." Kane's wise words laid heavily on my chest. He looked around from Lincoln to Sinclair, who stood arms crossed as they leaned against the fence barrier. "We don't break. Don't show fear." He looked back down at the coalition brand. "The people will remember."

I leaned back against the wall, squeezing my eyes shut, attempting to rid myself of the long-lasting headache I've had since returning to lock-up. While I was in Medical, I had thrown up, but Abby kept assuring me that it was just because of the baby, but I had a feeling it was partially that but mainly the stress. All I wanted was for this to be over — I just wanted things to go back to the way they were just a month ago. My life was just short of — dare I say — perfect. But now Pike was here, ridding Arkadia of the peacefulness that it held previously.

"Chancellor on deck." A guard announced.

Pike's voice quickly followed after. "It's time."

All heads turned to the entrance as Kane pushed himself off the ground, with me following suit. The Grounders started speaking, a small amount of commotion coming from them at the sight of Pike. It made me realize that they were timid of him, my stomach turning in discomfort at the fact.

Lincoln was quick to warn them. "Emo laik hir gon hon daun ai away. Yu souda nou kok au." (They're here to take me away. You must not resist.)

"Ai na nou protect emo without yu." (I can't protect them without you.) Said Denae, meeting Lincoln in the middle.

"Listen gon ai. Yu laik a gona. Stay yuj." (Listen to me. You are a warrior. Stay strong.) Lincoln reminded the woman with a confident tone before turning his gaze on me. We locked eyes for a brief moment before Lincoln turned back to Denae. "Johana ste going gon help yu. Ai trust em, krei yu nada seintaim." (Joanna is going to help you. I trust her, so you can too.)
