[tw: jo is going to be there when abby opens ontari's chest, so be aware if that sort of thing bothers you]

How many times had we been here? How many times had we been so close to defeating ALIE, and it all crumbling before our eyes? — Three. That's how many times. First, it was Luna, who declined the Flame, then we were to use Roan, but ALIE knew about that, then this recent time where we came up with a last-minute plan, but Ontari was brain dead.

But we didn't dwell on that fact much longer in the throne room, knowing that the others were climbing and we had plenty of unconscious chipped people to deal with. Bellamy, John, and I walked through the corridors of the top floor back towards the elevator, with Clarke electing to stay behind with her Mother to ensure she was okay. We had already dragged Jaha to a bedroom, tying him up before doing the same with everyone else that was knocked out.

The three of us stood by the elevator shaft, awaiting everyone else's oncoming arrival just to inform them that we were stuck and our plan had failed. It wasn't long before we could hear movement, then Octavia appeared, Bellamy being quick to help her up on the floor. She was followed by Pike, who was groaning loudly as he climbed up, only for me to see why — he had a bullet hole in his lower abdomen.

Before I had time to question it, Bryan appeared, seemingly struggling just as much, if not more. Rushing forward, I grabbed his arm, pulling him and noticing his limp in his left leg from a bullet and sweat covering his face. As I wrapped Bryan's arm around my shoulder, helping to stabilize him, Miller came through next, my brother being the one to help him.

"What the hell happened down there?" Bellamy questioned, looking between the four people.

"It was Kane." Pike grunted, making my expression drop at the mention of Kane. "He was shooting at us."

"Because he was chipped." Miller fired, moving himself to the other side of Bryan, mirroring my position.

From next to Bellamy, Octavia spoke. "Indra stayed down there to protect him from the blast."

"Wait. What about Callan? What happened to him?" I asked, eyes moving across to the youngest Blake.

Octavia shook her head. "He said he'd stay down there in case anyone got through."

"And you let him stay there?"

"Hey. Take it easy." John stepped forward with a calm voice. "He can take care of himself."

"We took out the ladder behind us and blew the wheel for the elevator." Bryan panted, the sweat glistening across his face.

"What's going on up here?" Pike asked.

My hold on Bryan loosened for a moment before I regained my grip. "Nothing good. Ontari's brain dead. She can't do anything for us."

"We tied up everyone we knocked out in a bedroom, and Clarke's back in the throne room with Abby." Said Bellamy.

"We should get back there." Pike declared before beginning to move towards the throne room; Bellamy quickly followed after him taking the lead and swinging around the rifle strapped around his shoulders.

John followed after them, and I looked anxiously at the three, Octavia caught my glance, prompting her to say, "Go. We'll catch up."

I looked over at Bryan, who nodded for me to go, so I gave him, along with Octavia and Miller, a grateful nod before sprinting ahead, quickly catching up to the three men. As we burst through the doors for the second time in the hour, again with Bellamy's rifle raised, pointing straight ahead to where Clarke and Abby sat on the steps in front of the throne.
