Strawberry Champagne (short)

It was a late all nighter at the HQ, the taskforce took turns on who was going to be running the late night shifts,
but tonight most of them were ready to turn in early because of the exhaustion that comes from sleep deprivation and over working so you and L being nocturnals said you would cover them for the night.

The thing is, me and L were secretly together but we didn't let only know.

So tonight we're finally going to be alone.
Obviously nothing crazy but we'll be able to spend time together. Or so I thought.

Everyone was going home rather than sleeping in the HQ.

"Thanks y/n, I owe you one!" Matsuda said grabbing his coat.

"No problem, just bring me a iced coffee in the morning and we're even." I said walking him out.

"Alright, have fun." He smiled and waved.

I sat down at the desk next to L and checked the time on my phone.

9:01

I just have to stay awake for 10 hours.

I looked over at L who was just scrolling on his computer and eating some gummies.

Me and L talked a bit, we were somewhat comfortable with each other.

To be honest I had a thing for him but I kept things professional.

Well tried to at least.

"Hey L."

"Yes Y/n?"

"I just wanted to say hi."

"...Hello Y/n." He smiled.

Then it went back to quiet.

I was now insanely bored and munching on some of Ls sweets.

"L do you have anything that will make this night not so grueling?"

"I don't think so." He said drinking some of his sugar with coffee.

I clicked through the tabs on the computer until I got bored.

It was now 12am.

I got up to stretch and walk around for a bit since I had been sitting for 2 hours straight and getting a little tired.

"I'm gonna go get something to drink, would you like anything?"

"Another coffee please, I finished mine rather quickly."

I nodded and went to the break room like area.

I couldn't find the coffee so I look around.

I checked the cabinets but nope.

Maybe we have a spare box somewhere but I'm just not looking right.

I get a step stool to reach some cabinets I haven't checked.

Nope. Not in here. Nope. No-

I was caught off guard seeing a very pretty bottle with it's even prettier label "Strawberry Champagne".

There were two bottles and I grabbed one and walked over to L.

"Back so soon?" He asked not looking up.

I set the beautiful glistening pink bottle in front of him.

"So you didn't bring coffee." He said.

"Why didn't you mention this to me." I said twirling the bottle.
