37. A reaction to surprise

Evening,
Dinning area,
8:15 p.m.

Everyone had taken their seats as the dinner was going to serve. Swara also came there with Riya, talking to her about something and chuckling. Approaching to the dinning table, her eyes averted from Riya suddenly to meet the pair of dark orbs that were looking at her with soft expression. Whole day, She wanted to talk to him about last night and apologize to him but somehow, it couldn't be possible.

"Come Swara, sit." She heard Riya's voice and looked away from him giving a small smile which was responded by him.

Then she nodded at Riya and took her seat between Shomi and Riya.

"After dinner, she will talk to him and also apologize for last night." She thought.

The dinner was being served but Swara was noticing something weird around her. A unusual smile on her parents lips, Laksh and Arav's ready to tease look, Sujata and Annapurna were talking about something to Ram and Dp. They gave her a soft smile to which she nodded. Sanskar looked calm but it seems like there is something hidden behind that expression. While Mehra's and Jaisingh's elders looked normal only. May be they are also unaware of the same what she doesn't know.

That's when she heard Riya's voice.

"What? Really?" Riya whispered in shock yet excitement looking at Uttara who told her something.

"What happened Riya?"  Swara asked with confused smile.

Uttara hits her elbow to Riya which Swara noticed and Riya cleared her throat.

"Nothing.. nothing Swara. Just like that." Riya said trying to control her excitement.

"Are you okay, Riya?" Swara asked her.

Riya nodded vigorously pressing her lips to thin line controlling her smile.

"What are they hiding from me?" She thought.

Unable to hold this suspense, she tapped on Shomi's hand.

"Maa, is everything okay? What's going on?" Swara whispered to her.

"You will know soon, Swara. Relax." Shomi said with assuring smile.

"Maa, you are making me nervous and scared now." Swara said hearing her answer.

"Relax Swara, there's nothing to be scared of. So calm down." Shomi said giving her hand a light squeeze.

Swara nodded at her with half smile. But don't know why, she was feeling a weird kind of sensation inside her heart. Something is coming up very soon but what? Not unwanted means won't be anything bad. Then what?
She started fidgeting her fingers. Why was she getting nervous? She questioned herself.

Everyone started having dinner. So did Swara. Although she was going through confusion and nervousness. Riya talked to her normally that somehow kept her calm but not diverted from the topic.

After sometime, everyone was done with dinner. Swara took a sip of water when Dp started to say something grabbing everyone's attention.

"Can I have your attention, everyone. Before everyone retire to their respective rooms, I have something to share with you all." Dp said

Everyone looked at him. Many of them already knew what he was going to say. Just few faces were holding confusion and Swara was one of them. She placed the glass back on table and also paid attention.

Dp looked at Shekhar who nodded at him smilingly to continue. Arav placed his hand on Sanskar's shoulder hugging him side way with teasing smile but Sanskar just gave a pleasant smile.
