"Lippy...Lippy!"
InShot my eyes opened and sprung up off the floor. I let out a groan and rubbed my head. "What happened?"
Talima helps me up. "You fainted. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a little headache," the sting pain in my head is thumping. I guess staying too long looking through deep within my memory can have a side effect.
I hear grunting and groaning coming from the cage. I look up to see Merkon struggling.
"I can't believe what I just saw," he grabs the bars, his knuckles turn white. "You..." his eyes darken as he glare at me with such anger. "You are the spawned of that woman...and Lord Ruvik....ha! I can't believe you are still alive."
He's standing on his two feet as he looks at me with those eyes. "That is why Lord Demir has awakened."
"What?" My body flinches. "He didn't die?" I looked up at Talima as I read her face. Of course, she knows. Why did I even bother to think to ask her?
"No, he did die, but his Blood Pearl is still intact. He's spiritually alive but not physically." Merkon smirked; his tongue was sticking out disgustingly. "After he has been awoken, he's searching for a vessel. He's waiting for someone worthy to be his shield before his actual body is fixed. He has been collecting corrupted hearts, the key ingredient to finish his resurrection. Unlike you, being the daughter of that woman. You have no problem at all."
"That explains the dead scientist with his heart cut out," Demir has already started collecting hearts.
My brows furrow, confused at what he meant. Then it hit me the power my mother had. After using her powers as a ticking time bomb, she was reborn after 500 years.
But why so long?
After my death, it took me a year to come back, and I remembered everything. It took five decades for my mother to come back and then lose her memory. Her new life made her a different person. But after meeting my father, her memories as the princess of Altera and a Celestian warrior returned. Instead of killing my father, she fell in love. Now I know what happened to her. Does that mean I have to wait another 500 years for her to be awakened again? I don't think I can wait that long.
The reason I came to Romania was to find out where my parents were. I hope to go home and set a journey to find them but only to find out that my mother is no longer here. As for my father...I don't think he will ever look for me since he's still searching for my mother. I guess he's drowning in sorrow for losing his wife.
But what about me?
He also promised to come looking for me. Where the fuck is he at?
Where is that powerful demon lord father of mine?
I understand losing someone you love; you get emotional and think nothing else, but I'm his daughter. Has he ever thought to come looking for me too?
"Talima, let's go," I got myself up and let out a sigh. "I think it time I make a plan and deal with old Uncle Demir."
"Lippy," the blind Fae stops me. "Demir is a mighty demon who made himself thirsty for power and anger just to prove he makes a better king than your father."
"Ha! Lord Ruvik is no match for my master." I can feel the evil aura emanating from Merkon. "You think you can deal with him just because of your birthright, because of the prophecy? You're still a child. Your power is nothing compared to someone who has lived over a thousand years. You. Are. Weak. Just. Like. Him."
I clench my fist taking all the insults from a demon who is faithful to his master. I understand he's sticking up for Demir, but I can allow him or his master to destroy something I want to live on so desperately.
