"Wow," I blink and stun at that interaction. "That was unexpected."

I hadn't realized until Dominic came from the kitchen with a wet cloth and took the hand where Lorcan kissed and started to wipe the make-off like it's dirt.

His eyes furrow, a serious expression as he was trying to clean my hand. His lips were tightly pressed into a thin line, and he wasn't sure that the dirt was wiped off.

"You're going to peel my skin off if you keep rubbing like that," I scoff and pinch my lips, preventing from laughing. Seeing him like this, I couldn't help but find him adorable.

"I don't like what that guy did," He snarls. "Once we go to Romania, I want you to stay at least a hundred feet away from him."

"That is a bit too much?"

"He's a player, Lippy. I don't want you to get hurt even if he's a fae." He says under his breath.

I pull my hand back and flash a smile. "I'll be fine. Besides, if you do something to him, it will cause a war."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing," I want to drop the topic and not explain any further.

"Lippy, that fae...he mentioned about your parents," Dominic starts to ask about that topic.

"For all I know, they are alive," I briefly say. "Well, I know my father is alive because he's searching for my mother."

"What happened to your mother?"

"She...she disappeared after she gave birth to me. I guess why I was left in the woods. I don't know where she is or what happened to her exactly. My dad is still looking for her."

That's what the twins told me. My father will never give up until he finds her. But the puzzling thing is my mother is human. How can she disappear without a trace? How hard is it to find a single human?

I heave out a breath through my nose. "Anyways, that is why I decided to go to Romania. The Oracle will be attending with the Queen of Fae, and she knows where my parents are."

"Lippy," whispering my nickname created a pleasure of warmth filling my body. Dominic takes my hand, and the pleasure of his warmth increases. It felt good inside that I didn't want him to let go. "I'm sorry about your mom. You and I both know we thought your parents died but to think they are alive. If your mother is missing and your father is looking for her, why didn't he come for you first? You're his daughter. He shouldn't abandon you like that then-"

The tone of his voice changed from soft to a bit of hostility. He's starting to be concerned about a father leaving his newborn daughter in the woods for any animal with sharp teeth to eat.

"Alpha, I have no right to defend the man, but he's still my dad. Whatever reason for him to leave me and search my mom. Well...when I meet him, maybe I can ask," I told him. "Don't worry about it. That's why I'm going to see the Oracle."

I pull up a forceful smile. Touch his hand, and that still stung warmth feeling lingers when our skin comes in contact. Dominic has never been this nice to me before. It feels like when we were kids. That little sweet and kind boy I knew seems to have returned to me. Then a flash of my death pops up at the exact moment - ruining it. Reminding me that I shouldn't get caught up with romance involving Dominic, or else my hard work of surviving will be nothing but dust.

Pulling my hands away from Dominic, I only plaster a smile upon him to hide the fact that the images of my death were a warning.

The room went dead silent as a portal opened as two demons spawned themselves. "Master!"
