FORTY-FOUR

"I will kill you!" Hexia came charging at me in full force and with a raging expression. "Time to die!"

"Master, be careful!" Saye cries out before leaving the cave.

I didn't want to move an inch. As she grew closer, I gripped her face instantly and stopped her from attacking me.

I squeezed her face as she hissed in pain.

"What are you doing?" She snarls. "Let me go!"

With my strength, Hexia wouldn't budge. I kept my hand on her face.

Although, the blackness around her fingers had already reached her whole arm. Hexia will soon die, but Saye wanted me to save her. So, I got no choice but to stop this fight.

"I promise your sister to keep you alive."

Hexia chuckles. "You listen to your slave? What kind of master are you?"

"The kind that doesn't see them as slaves but as family," I tell her. "We aren't related by blood doesn't mean we aren't family."

"Family?" Hexia snorts and glares her snake-like eyes at me. "You think my siblings are your family? Do you think they will support you? Will they help you in need when they can't agree with me? Do you know what they told me when I was desperate in love? They told me I shouldn't give my heart to him because he doesn't return the feeling. I know Lord Ruvik doesn't give his heart easily, but when your mother appeared instantly melted his heart. It was that quick to change his mind about falling in love. Lord Ruvik never showed such loving eyes to me. Why her? Why with that woman? Why couldn't he love me?"

Her emotions started pouring out as I removed my hand from her face.

"I loved Lord Ruvik before that woman did." She claims. " I've done everything for him to please him. To show my loyalty, and when I confessed, he told me not to fall in love with a man like him. I was the only one by his side when his mother passed away. I was his comfort, and he pushed me away for that bitch! All she was a useless beauty who cast a spell on Lord Ruvik. I'm the one who loves him the most. I'm the one who's supposed to be by his side."

This was another Leah in love with Dominic situation.

Leah had known Dominic since they were kids, but his attention went to me when I came into his life.

"I know someone like you," I say. "She knew the boy and was determined to love him once she became someone important to him. But once the boy's father brought back a baby girl, the boy starts to shift his love and attention to her." I start to explain Leah's story.

"The girl was driven mad and jealous. She did everything to ruin the new girl, and she did. She turned into a ferocious monster made filled with rage. Like you. And you know what happened to her?"

Hexia glares at me.

"Because of her madness and psychotic love crazy for the man, she was defeated and lost her mind. And I mean, she lost it. She had forgotten who she was, even her parents. Now, she is living a peaceful life and sees the boy who is a man as her leader and not the man she loves."

"Why are you saying all this?" Hexia growls.

"Driven with madness because the man you love doesn't return the feeling means you should give up and be happy for him," I explain. "Becoming the monster you are now will not bring back the Lord you served. You should be happy that he has finally found someone; instead, you are fighting against him to prove how angry and jealous you are just for the attention. Don't you know how pathetic that is?"

"You are calling me pathetic?!"

"Not only pathetic but stupid," I say sternly. "You gave your loyalty to one master for the rest of your life, but in the end, you betrayed him. Just because of love? You are better than that. You are loved and cared for by your brothers and sister, but you broke your family apart by two brothers and switched masters for revenge. Doesn't that sound pathetic?"
