I thought I could live a peaceful life.

I thought once I was brought back to the past and left everything that could lead to my death, and I'd be okay.

But no.

Fate won't turn the tables for me, not even the slightest, because it's my fate to die soon. I thought leaving the Blue Moon Pack, leaving Dominic, and leaving the life I once thought could be my salvation of everyday life could redirect my fate but nope! Fucking bitch ass fate want my death to process the balance the whole entire world.

"Fuck!" I growl and slice the neck of a demon before aiming for the next one. "Why does everything have to be fucked up!"

I slash and stab my way through after bodies kept dropping behind me, leaving a trail of demon corpses.

My body tingles as I look up to see a couple of demons above me, ready to land. I held my daggers tight in position, but an enormous wolf threw them off over me. Dominic lands on them and gnaws at their faces so viciously.

"Alpha, what the hell are you doing here? You should be back there with the rest." I scold at the beautiful black wolf before me.

In his wolf form, he's not as big as Kaze. That's because he's a demon wolf, but their strength is equal, which explains the alpha blood flowing in Dominic's veins.

Dominic didn't shift back to human, so he walked toward me and poked his nose. We both stare at each other until his voice reaches my mind through a link. "Let me join the fight. I can help you."

"Leah is after me, not you." I prompt. "And besides, I can handle this myself."

I don't want to fall into those big round gold eyes of his and melt away in paradise. Just his closeness itself already makes my body warm, and my heart skips a beat.

Stay focused, Lippy. Don't be intimated by him. You've already moved on. Focus. Focus!

I turn to walk back into battle when he tugs on my clothes. I look over to see his mouth at the hem of my skirt. I scowl. "Alpha Dominic, let go."

He huffed through his big black nose. "Please..."

"You're ruining my armor," although that wasn't an excuse for him to release; it's just this outfit is cute as hell, and I don't want it to be ruined especially nip in the mouth of an alpha wolf.

"Please, Lippy. Let me help. It pains me to be a bystander and watch you get hurt."

"I can protect myself, Alpha."

"Please..."

"You are acting like a child right now. Your grandparents and everyone is watching you act like this. Aren't you worried your reputation as alpha will be tarnished if you behave this way? What will others think of you?" I tell him out of concern for his reputation, but that didn't remark him from letting go. Instead just made him let out another huff and then put on his sad puppy face. He starts to whimper.

I can't believe he doesn't care that he's acting like a child in front of everyone.

I look over to where the Elders and the others are on the other side of the room. Dominic's grandfather shook his head and hid the embarrassment his grandson was showing. The other male Elders were either smirking or not looking. As for the queens, Queen Vanessa and Queen Bisera were snickering, and Queen Ingrid just plastered a cunning grin towards me.

Oh boy.

Everyone seems to take in Dominic's behavior as unusual and cute. I'm so lucky I'm hiding my frustration right now.
