How did you discover Wattpad?:
A friend told me about Wattpad, and I’ve been on it ever since.

How long have you had Wattpad, and how often do you use it?:
I’ve had Wattpad for over a year now, and I’m on it every day.

Is there a meaning behind your username?:
Yes, there is a meaning behind my username. It’s my pen name (Samantha Maze).

Why did you start writing? What age did you discover your love for it?:
I started when I was around ten years old. I had loved telling stories up to that point, and had written a bunch down in notebooks, so I simply moved my hobby to the screen and it flourished.

Who are you favorite authors? What are your favorite books? (Books on Wattpad count too!) What is your favorite genre?:
My favorite authors would be Richard Adams (Watership Down), Christopher Paolini (Eragon) and a growing number of Wattpad authors on here (@Linahanson with Cursed Times, @CocoNichole with her Encante Trilogy, @OfficiallySarra with her amazing historical novels My Enemy Is My Savior and The Ones That Fell). I’ve learned so much from all of them! My favorite genre would have to be Fantasy, but for a close second place it’s a tie between Historical Fiction and Adventure.

Do you want a career in writing?:
Yes, of course!

Who supports you the most in your writing?:
My family supports me in writing, but Wattpad also acts as a supportive community to give me feedback on my works.

Choose one of your books:

What is your book called? What genre is it? What is it about (2/3 lines)?:
My book is called Rise. It’s in the Fantasy/Adventure genre. Rise is about a fantastic journey between a girl and her animal companion (fera) in the midst of a war. It is the first of a collection of books titled ‘Reine.’

What inspired you to write it?:
I liked the idea of having a mental and emotional bond between humans and animals. Questions began to pop up concerning the topic. What struggles would they go through? How would their relationship differ from the norm? What if it was set during an even larger struggle between world powers? And the list went on…

How often do you update? When was it last updated?:
I update once a week, but as the story grows nearer to completion I am considering updating it twice a week. Rise was updated last on Friday.

How long are your chapters? Do you think short or long chapters are better?:
My chapters range from 2 to 4 Wattpad pages. Personally, I like short chapters but am willing to read longer ones in other stories depending on how much I’m into it.

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?:
Yes! I am. There is really not much more to say haha. When I originally created Rise I was not expecting how large it would get.

Do you have any advice for new authors?:
Change your music playlist often and never settle for simple endings to a chapter. Go for the cliffhangers!

This author's book was good, and well written. At some points, I struggled to follow the story-line but overall I thought it was a very good read. Check it out!
