How did you discover Wattpad?

I discovered Wattpad thanks to my little sis. She knows I love writing and after years of no production, I decided to give it a chance and fate had my sister to tell me about this platform.

How long have you had Wattpad, and how often do you use it?

Like two years (since about 2015, then). I used to use it a lot, but lately I've been a little busy. Hopefully, I'll be returning to my routine, which is to try to post work every week at least.

Is there a meaning behind your username?

Not really. My name is Kathie Lyssette and 12 might be for December, the month I was born on.

Why did you start writing? What age did you discover your love for it?

When I was eight. Then, around my teens, I stopped and returned to it later in my adult life.

Who are you favourite authors? What are your favourite books? (Books on Wattpad count too!) What is your favourite genre?

I don't have a particular favorite author, maybe Wattpad author John Shirey, but authors per-se I'm undecided. I love many genres except Westerns and I'm not so fond of the Manga books either.

Do you want a career in writing?

Yes - or at least something related to it, like editing or proofreading maybe.

Who supports you the most in your writing?

My fans.

What is your book called? What genre is it? What is it about (2/3 lines)?

The latest book I'm working on is titled Everlasting Beauty, it's a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Its genre is Sci-Fi and Romance.

What inspired you to write it?

I feelthat it conveys a powerful message of seeing beyond appearances and I've always liked it.

How often do you update? When was it last updated?

It's been a like a week or so, but I needed to recharge after seeing everything that's going on in the world. I usually update every three days, but now I'm busy with my daughter, so I'll be updating once a week, but if I can update sooner, I will.

How long are your chapters? Do you think short or long chapters are better?

Well I've been experimenting with that and I think short chapters are better. My chapters are less than 2,000 words.

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?

Yes, I'm very happy. I didn't have an audience before Wattpad, so even if one person is reading I feel it's amazing.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Just keep on learning, continue writing and make sure you do it because you love it. Try to write from your heart and it'll be amazing. Also, don't take the criticism too harshly, just take what can work for you and dump what you don't want.

I always enjoy reading books which are flowing and easy to get in to, so it was no surprise that I found Everlasting Beauty rather enjoyable. The book itself is pretty well-written and I was very content reading it - it's certainly that kind of book which you can pick up to continue reading whenever you have free time. The sci-fi twist is interesting, but the romantic aspects still make the book very open to a large variation of audiences, so (even if sci-fi isn't your thing) I still recommend it to all readers as a satisfying read that will really captivate you.
