Rimuru POV

I was just idling around in my room, enjoying my peaceful day off when I heard Souei spoke to me telepathically. "Rimuru-sama, it's an emergency."

"What is it, Souei?" I asked.

"An armed group has been spotted in the north sky. They number around 500. They're heading straight towards us."

[Notice, an individual of high magicules is approaching at high speed from the west.]

What? What's going on? As I was trying to decide which party I should confront, Kiyotaka told me telepathically.

"Rimuru. You take care of the army. I will take care of the one from the West." That makes things easier! With Kiyotaka's combat prowess which was better than that of mine, he should be able to handle the being coming from the west.

"Got it!" I replied. I turned to Shion. "Shion, tell Rigurd to order an evacuation."

"Yes!" She complied.

At any rate, from the sky, huh? This will be my first time laying eyes on the aircrafts of this world. I wonder... wait, is that... pegasi!? Is it possible they're just passing overhead?

Just as I thought that, I received a report from Souei.

"Targets have begun their descent. Their destination is this location."

An armed group, huh? They could be more of a threat than 20000 orcs. What in the world have they come here for? And we just finished building our city too. I would like to avoid fighting if possible.

"Rimuru-sama!" Benimaru, Shion and Shuna ran by my side.

Who are they in the first place?

"Huh? Could it be..." Kaijin muttered.

"Kaijin? Shouldn't you be evacuating?" I asked him.

"Yeah, but I have a gist of who they are... I once heard about it from a retired general at a bar about a secret military division under the direct control of the Dwarf King." He told me.

"Are you saying that those guys might be it?" I asked.

"Yeah, that division was dubbed as the-" Just as he was explaining, the pegasi descended with the Dwarf King in the lead. "Pegasus Knights." Kaijin finished.

He went forward and knelt before the Dwarf King. "It has been a while... King Gazel."

"It has, Kaijin. You too, slime." King Gazel replied while turning to me in greeting. "Do you still remember me?"

There's no way I could forget. When we were taken to the court in the Dwarf Kingdom and were on the brink of being deemed guilty, it was thanks to this King's sense of justice that we were able to avoid any further problems, but...

"Where's the human with you last time?" Gazel asked.

"Kiyotaka-sama has something to take care of." Kaijin replied. "My King, what brings you here today?"

"Not much. Just to ascertain the true nature of this slime and that human from before. Today, I come not as king, but as an individual. Spare me the formalities." Gazel said. "Otherwise, I would never be allowed to go out for a stroll."

That's well... because you're the king after all... but this is bad. If I am spoken ill of, the kijin will fly into rage. Souei's smile looks especially scary. He's normally composed, but you don't know what he'll do once he snaps. Well, at least he smiles... I've never seen Kiyotaka smile before.

"It's not like we're in the middle of a trial, so it should be fine if I say something, right?" As I said that, I saw one of the knights about to draw his blade.
