Chapter 9

3rd POV

This was sometime before Phobio and his party arrived in Tempest. In the Kingdom of Blumud, rumours of the Orc Lord being defeated had reached the ears of a handful of people. Two men were in a mansion discussing the actions they needed to take due to that situation.

"A city of monsters, home to a slime and Devil that bested the orc lord... Can this be true?" The Baron of Blumund, Belyaad, asked in disbelief. "No, I know it's true, but I cannot believe it. No. I have to believe it since the slime and the Devil had saved us.

"True." Guildmaster Fuze answered. "What relationship should we seek with them? And should we do so on the assumption that they are benevolent, or should we perceive him as a threat and attempt to eliminate them?"

"You speak of eliminating them so easily, but is that even possible?"

"Shall I give you an honest answer?"

"I don't even need to hear it."

Letting out a sigh, Fuze stood up. "I suppose we should go and meet them once. I will judge this Rimuru and Kiyotaka with my own eyes."

He left and met with the three adventurers who went to the city of monsters, or village at that time- and said. "Alright, let's move out! We're going to see the slime and demon you three met."

The reason for this was because Shizue was his caretaker when he was a few months old had helped him a few times when he was a child which made her a hero in his eyes and a friend, and this city was the last place where she was heard. He remembered before she went to the forest, Shizue had said that she had intended to travel to the demon lord's territory since she had some unattended business there, and insisted upon attending it.

Knowing there's no convincing otherwise, Fuze had decided to help her from behind the scene, pairing her with three adventurers he planned to send into the forest.

However, since Kiyotaka had told the three of them not to tell anyone anything except that the monsters there meant no harm, it was believed by others that Shizue was killed there.

The three adventurers, Kabal, Eren and Guid let out a tired sigh.

Timeskip (After the meeting with Phobio)

One of the Nations surrounding the Great Forest of Jura, the kingdom of Falmuth, is a major trade power known as the gateway to the Western Provinces. It was from this kingdom that a team was sent to the Jura Forest to learn about the Orc Lord.

Led by a man named Youm, the team was a rowdy gang, brought together by money. Tired from the weeks of travelling, the team started grumbling as they couldn't go back. Youm, though, did not think of that. Instead, he had a destination in mind.

Even if they returned to their country, they couldn't expect to ever have a decent living there. They'd be imprisoned again and indentured into work again. So he thought their best chances lay in other nations. They then decided to rest up in the area and think of some plans.

Several hours later, the band was on the move, running regular patrol shifts to stay alert. Suddenly, they could hear fighting up ahead.

"Boss-"

"Sshhhhh!" Youm quieted his men down, gesturing them to group together and get into military formation.When they were ready, he waved his hand forward, and they all began to march, weapon in hand and ready for battle.

Already, they could hear voices from up ahead.

"Whoa! Stop, stop, stop! We go there, we're walking right into its trap!"

"But... but I don't think we can win if we keep fighting like this!"

"Guys, I can only keep our position here for so- whoa! Look out!"
