A/N
OE: For the next two chapters, Kiyo will be more OOC than usual, so I hope you wouldn't mind. I kind of suck at writing Slice-of-life and original ideas (Will start two or three chapters after this), so don't expect the next few chapters to be well written... not like the whole story was pretty good imo, just that this is the best I could write without changing the events that happen in canon since they're important.
If you're wondering what's the other reason why I'm not changing the events is because I will run out of ideas quick, that's why I put some stories on hold on my main account. Anyways, hope you enjoy the chapter.
Kiyotaka POV
"Shizue, what's my schedule for today?" I asked my secretary.
"There are no urgent items today." Shizue said as she looked through my schedule.
"I see."
"You can take some time to rest for a change, Kiyotaka-san."
"What can I do for a break, though..." I wondered. I stayed behind at my mansion and laid down on my couch. Maybe I can...
I went over to my piano. Been a long time... Gliding my hands across the piano, I played several songs like 'Moonlight Sonata' from Beethoven, 'Piano Concerto' by Clara Schumann, 'Clair de lune' by Debussy and some more famous pieces.
As I finished the pieces, I turned around and looked at the crowd around me.
"Incredible, Kiyotaka-sama!"
"Sasuga, Kiyotaka-sama!"
Praises from the crowd could be heard. Since I left the door lock open, anyone can come in. Some had entered while some were looking through the windows.
"It's nothing much..." I tried to wave off their praise. I looked at the time. It has been a few hours since I started playing the piano. I guess the saying 'Time flies quickly when you're having fun' is true huh?
"Kiyotaka-sama! The time has come to begin preparing the fields!" Ririna called out. Thank god there's work to do. I have been so used to the work here that I can't just idle around. "Rimuru-sama is already there, so I wanted to ask if you would like to join as well."
As a step toward increasing the self-sufficiency of our growing town, we decided to start lots of fields for farming.
"Sure, why not." I answered. As everyone left the mansion, I went to my room to change into a tank top as the weather may get hot while farming. After that, I went to the fields where everyone who's interested was already there.
"It has been said that any land that yields good food is a good land." I said. For some reason, we're asked to give a speech, and Rimuru forced it on me. "That's what I want our land to be like. Anyways, I will be counting on all of you today."
"Understood!" The monsters helping out said, and started chatting with each other excitedly.
"There is that saying about what one can't do on an empty stomach." Hakurou quoted.
"I don't want to let our children starve." Geld agreed. The Orcs out of everyone can relate to this well due to experience, and no one would like their people to starve unless they're uncaring beings.
"I relate!" Shion said as she held a pot of her cooking. "We all want to eat delicious food, don't we?"
"All right! Start planting!" Rimuru, who knew the terror of Shion's cooking, hurriedly said.
"Yeah!" Everyone cheered,
Rimuru and I gave out instructions to everyone on their part. After finishing their part, Gobta and his friends aside from Gobzo took a nap under a tree.
