Chapter 35

"Why are you here outside, Mason?"

I asked as I saw Mason outside the mansion. I just knew it when we were in Spain. I tried to stop him because it is not good for his health and he stopped. But that just I thought, but I caught him again puffing a cigarette. It's his own business at hindi na dapat ako nakialam pa sa gusto niya.

But I was just concerned.

Haed, Shan, Anastasha, Gerwen, Diera and Shiela are in the pool area, nag-iinom. Shiela is good with us that's why she's here.

There's just one person I know that couldn't accept me for Haed. And that is his mother. She never accepted me and I think she will never accept me as her daughter-in-law but I'm fine with it. We can't please people just to like us. Whatever she wants, then she wants. But not all she wanted will ever give to her. And we are the example. She wants Shiela for Haed but she can't do anything about it because Haed loves me. He chose me, and I know he will forever choose me over everything. I can sense that.

Mason inhaled his cigarette and exhaled it. I don't like the smell of the cigarette but it wasn't that bad, huh? He smelled so damn good. Nakakaadik. Pero I already had Haed, his smell is my favorite. Parang inaakit ako lagi sa bango niya.

"Anastasha," he shrugged.

She wasn't even capable of cooking. She wanted to learn how to cook pero kapag nagluluto kasi ay may usok talaga sa pagkain.

It seemed like he didn't expect me to asked him that. I arched my brow at him. He looked away from me.

"Just something important about the case." he then puffed his cigarette.

I wasn't convinced! "Why do I feel like you're lying?"

"Because lawyers are liars?" he said and shrugged. "But I wasn't lying."

"What kind of case is that, then?"

"Why are you seemed interested?"

"Because I wasn't convinced!" I frustratedly said.

Nagkibit balikat siya na parang wala lang. "That isn't my problem anymore so go inside and enjoy with them." he pushed me a bit.

"How can I enjoy, huh?"

"You were the one who asked me first about that. What I did isn't your business, okay?"

I groaned but he's right.

I sighed. I should have erase whatever is on my mind. It wasn't helping me. I should have enjoy my night and think about the wedding. Why would I think about his job, huh?

I drank my juice and trying to forget it. I was thankful that they believed me.
