Chapter 38 "A Day With You"

"I see the twins really keep your ring?"

Y/n momentarily stopped from eating her food, she only glanced at Taehyun who has been staring intently at her. The twins somehow managed to drag Y/n to have dinner together, thus, she had to face Taehyun for a little longer.

Taehyun had been trying to bring up their relationship as a topic and he's been really obvious.

Y/n mindlessly looked down on Taehyun's fingers that were holding the chopsticks. Her heart just freaking skipped a beat when her eyes took a glimpse of the same old wedding ring, wrapping the base of his ring finger.

"I see you're still wearing yours?" Y/n replied with a question.

Now Taehyun had to prevent his smile from coming up because he was trying to at least look less tensed and excited.

"Yeah," Taehyun said. He inwardly cursed himself for that.

He knew this was leading onto something but he wanted to take it slowly. After all, they only got to see each other after four damn years.

Y/n laid her chopsticks down, staring back at him, "Why?"

"H-Huh?"

Taehyun didn't realize himself stuttering until Y/n grinned at him provokingly. Confidence blaring up and Taehyun scoffed in amusement. He had to calm himself down or else he'd do something out of his control.

"Why are you still wearing it?"

'Am I not obvious enough?' Taehyun debated with his mind. He slightly pouted, wishing that Y/n was just acting oblivious.

Hyunhee and Taemi kept exchanging glances. They were still not over with the fact that Taehyun's their real dad.

"We're divorced, Taehyun." Y/n softly said to him, "You could've just thrown it away instead."

Taehyun remained silent. It's confirmed that Y/n was oblivious from his intention of suddenly appearing in front of her doorstep. His heart swelling as Y/n avoided his gaze and put an end to the topic. The twins looked confused and half not listening.

For now, he decided to let it pass. It would be best to talk about this again if the twins weren't around, Y/n and Taehyun thought of that. He also didn't want to push everything fast so that he wouldn't be putting Y/n on the edge. If she needed time, then he must wait. But he knew he also deserved to know what exactly happened for the past four years.

Not long after dinner and washing up, the twins instantly fell asleep in the living room while watching a movie. Hyunhee was hugging Taehyun's arm with her head leaning on him. Taemi was on Taehyun's left side, her head laying on his lap.

Taehyun was just staring at the movie, not actually paying attention to it but was just lost in his own thoughts.

Y/n had just finished sewing a mini dress that she actually left undone at the stacks and decided to step out of the study room. She softly gasped when she saw Taehyun and the twins at the living room.

"Hey," she awkwardly came forward and Taehyun just smiled.

"Can you help me carry them in their room?"

"Of course."

Y/n carried Taemi while Taehyun carried Hyunhee who kept whining in her sleep. She absolutely hated getting disturbed.

Taehyun was first to put Hyunhee down on their shared little bed. He then turned to Y/n who was struggling a bit with Taemi's body. He took the initiative and gently took the little girl from Y/n.
