Chapter 11 "Atrocious Twist"

Today's the day they were attending the Yuan's party. It was still surprising that they were invited when everyone already knew about the rivalry that had been going on between them.

Guests piled up and as the couple entered, all eyes were on them. They weren't expecting for their arrival after all. People started to gossip as false and irrelevant rumours started to spread like wildfire.

Kang Taehyun, along with his wife, Kang Y/n, stepped in as the crowd separated into two sides, making a way for them to pass.

"What the hell are you doing?" Taehyun asked as he simply gritted his teeth.

"Walking.. beside you?" Y/n replied, quite unsure as she glanced up at him.

Taehyun rolled his eyes before grabbing her wrist and casually wrapped her fingers on his arm. She was baffled with the sudden action while Taehyun plastered a bright smile on his face, curving the corners of his lips as his wondrous eyes looked ahead.

He was practically dragging her, but it wasn't obvious surprisingly. As they walked, Y/n remained stunned as everyone around them were already deceived by Taehyun's angelic facade. Looking so laid-back and friendly when he was actually a devil behind those features of his.

"Tonight, I'll be leading the plan. Just follow," Taehyun murmured as they were being led by a waiter towards one of the tables for the special guests.

"You always lead tho, no need for repetition," Y/n mumbled to herself.

They walked further and they spotted another couple to which they pressumed as Xi and Ara, the newlyweds.

As the rival couple turned around, both mustered up big and fake smiles as they opened their arms to welcome them. Y/n went along as she greeted Ara.

Taehyun mentally rolled his eyes before allowing Y/n to let go of his arms. He then shook hands with Yuan Xi, his mortal enemy since he was a little kid. This guy was a half Chinese and their organization was tremendously hungry for more power and money.

They did managed to fix the conflict between them over a simple talk a few years ago, but since business was involved, the tension and rivalry was still there. It was undeniable and you couldn't just turn a blind eye on it.

"Never have I ever thought, that this day would actually come," Xi smiled warmly as everyone was watching them. But to Taehyun, he could only see how he was being taunted.

Good thing, he was able to hold down his emotions at the moment, doing his best to keep his chill and calm look.

"And what's that supposed to mean, Mr. Yuan?" Taehyun furrowed his brows for a second, acting all innocent and new to the remark from him.

Xi eyed him before scoffing and holding his wife back on her waist, resulting for Ara to flirtily press her side closer to Xi and sending a tempting wink to Taehyun. Well, everyone can agree that this guy was way more attractive than Xi. It wouldn't be shocking if Ara found him more stunning

Let us not forget the fact that Y/n saw that wink which made her step back and hold onto Taehyun's hand, casually tiptoeing and pecking him on the cheek.

To his surprise, Taehyun blinked, he was surely not ready for that move. He gulped while looking at her who had a victorious smile on her face.

"Marking your territory is really a must," Y/n said, loud enough for the newlyweds and a few more guests to hear. "Don't you agree, Mr. Yuan?"

"Indeed, Mrs. Kang. It's your way to show that you owned something or someone," Xi replied which made Ara suddenly ashamed as she knew her husband didn't see what the heck she did just now.
