It had been a few days and Rhyan still had been avoiding me like the black plague.

Was I seriously that bad of a kisser? Or was there not the spark he thought was going to be there? Either way it was distracting the hell out me.

"Gabbie, are you paying attention?" Mrs. Walker asked.

"Yes ma'am."

She cocked an eyebrow but continued on, "Like I was saying, I've assigned a new project for the class, you will need a partner, which I will choose-"

The whole class groaned.

"Oh, come on guys. I always let you pick who you want to work with. Lets be a reasonable," she paced around the class, "Anyways, the project is for the science fair in two weeks. You have less then that to make an interesting diagram and example of your idea. I've placed your partners on colored note cards in front you. On the white note cards will be the main idea partner has the idea of the project."

I had a white note card and it said egg drop.

Crap. I hate egg drops, they are so difficult.

"Hey partner." I heard a familiar voice say.

I felt my heart drop to the pit if my stomach.

"You're my partner?" I shook my head, "This week could not get any worse."

Jake offered me one of his million dollar smiles, as he scratched the back of his neck nervously.

The bell rang.

"So I'll come over today, 6ish?" He asked, following behind me as I started to leave.

I sighed, "I guess. I live on 8764 Madison Dr-"

"Yeah, I know. See you then." He smiled, walking the other way.

I grabbed a Gatorade out of the fridge and began to chug it down.

I looked at the clock on the stove that read: 5:00 p.m.

Jake shouldn't be here for another hour.

I wonder how he's going to get here. I never finished telling him my address.

I ran upstairs, hoping into the shower and doing all my other hygiene stuff. I dried my hair, letting my curls fall in it's usual state.

I was currently wearing a loose-fit white blouse and a pair of skinny jeans, barefoot because I hadn't decided on a pair of shoes yet.

I sighed, reapplying my make up and putting in a pair of pearl earnings. I stepped into my walk in closet, flipping on the light as I stared at my selection of shoes. I slid pn a pair of brown uggs.

I clicked my phone on checking the time.

5:30 p.m.

I made my way downstairs, finding myself back in the kitchen. I found my speaker and blasted 'Want to Want Me' by Jason Durelo.

I danced around the kitchen, pulling out a bowl of washed strawberries, the voice of Jason Durelo overtaking the house.

It was times like these that I loved having the house to myself.

I danced into the the living room and took a bite out of a strawberry as I hoped onto the coffee table, belting out the song.

"Girl, you're the one I want to want me and if you want me, girl, you got me. There's nothing I know I wouldn't do, I wouldn't do, just to get up next to you." I sang, moving my hips and whipping my hair.

I was obviously born to be a performer.

"You open the door. Wearing nothing but a smile, fell to the floor. And you whisper in my ear, 'Baby, I'm yours.' Oh, just the thought of you get's me so high, so high."

"Am I too early?" A familiar voice chuckled.

I turned around and found Jake leaning against the door frame. He had his arms crossed over his chest and a small smirk on his lips.

I let out a scream, falling off the coffee table in shock.

That's going to leave a mark.

"Nicely done." Jake marveled, slowly clapping for me as I stood up.

That jackass didn't even help me up.

"How long have you been standing there?" I bellowed, brushing myself off, "Wait, who even let you in?"

"Long enough to watch those moves." He chucked, "Oh, and I let myself in. You should really lock your door or something."

"Have you ever heard of knocking?" I grabbed my bowl of strawberries and placed them on the coffee table, "Besides you're not even supposed to be here yet."

He shrugged, "The faster we start, the faster we finish."

I rolled my eyes, cutting off my speaker as I made my way into the kitchen.

"Do you want a drink?" I shouted, grabbing a drink for myself.

"A drink would be nice," he called back.

I walked into the the living with two bottles of Dr.Pepper. I tossed it at Jake.

He caught it with one hand, "Thanks." He unscrewed the lid, taking a sip. "But those dance moves are top notch. Have you ever considered So You Think You Can Dance?"

I rolled my eyes, glaring at him.

He laughed, "Ready to get this project done," he smirked, "Partner?"

I let out a sigh, sitting next to him, "Let's get this over with."
