I gave up on Jake. I wasn't about to make myself look desperate for anyone.

I did my best to avoid him the rest of the week. It was hard, but I manged.

"What do you think?" I asked my friends, spinning in a circle.

"You look hot as hell, babe." Danielle replied, "But you're missing something."

She searched through my closet and walked out with a jean jacket in her hand.

"That's better." She smiled triumphantly.

I wore black leggings with a white flowing shirt. My feet were adorned with brown boots and mid-calf white socks. I added the jean jacket, rolling the sleeves hallway up. I finished the look with a long chained necklace, and a watch to match.

Danielle walked over to my full body mirror and began running her fingers through her red hair.

"How many football games are left?" She asked.

I plugged up my straightener, and began doing my make up.

"It all depends if we win tonights game." Sophia answered, sitting on my bed.

"Ahh." I applied my foundation and powder.

It was quite for a few seconds before Danielle broke the silence.

"Has Jake still not talked to you?"

I flinched at the soumd of his name.

"Nope."

"Are you going to talk to him tonight?" Sophia asked.

"Nah."

She leaned back, starring at my ceiling.

I should just leave him alone. Maybe us not being friends is what's best for both of us.

"Something just doesn't add up," Sophia started, "I mean, he can't just buy you hot chocolate then want nothing to do with you."

"It makes zero since." Danielle added.

I shrugged, "It doesn't matter. I'm over it." I lied, doing my eye make up.

There was an awkward silence between us, that made me feel really uncomfortable.

Jake cutting me off did bother me. But I had to be the bigger person and leave him alone, especially if he didn't want me near him.

If he didn't care, I sure didn't.

We arrived at the football game three minutes into the first quarter.

"I hope Tyler's doing good!" Sophia acknowledged.

Tyler was the Tigers quarterback and all-star player. Without him, we wouldn't be 12-1 tying for first in the county.

Tonight's game was a tough one.

We were up aginst a school from a different county that we haven't played before.

These guys were huge!

We had the ball now and were up by a touchdown.

Mike Simmons, a cute junior, hiked the ball to Tyler. He scanned the field desperately, trying to find someone open.

He launched the ball to Sam who darted towards the end zone only to get blocked two yards away from scoring.

We had our third down, so if we wanted to score we had to it now.

The ball was put into play once more. Tyler clutched the ball to his chest and sprinted around players towards the end zone.

Touchdown!
