"You need to apologize to Valorie." Sophia blurted.
I hopped of the treadmill and introduced her to a glare.
She continued to run on her treadmill, increasing the speed a bit.
"I need to apologize?" I scoffed, "You should really devote your life to comedy. You have some really great material."
I jogged over to my gym bag and pulled out a clean towel. I leaned up against the wall and wiped the sweat off my forehead.
I would use the towels that the YMCA provides, but who knows if they wash them daily.
"Oh c'mon, Gabbie. You've been shutting her out without any expiation. It's not entirely her fault. "
She hoped off the treadmill and turned to scowled at me.
"Danielle's on my side, aren't you Dani?" I called, confidently.
Silence.
I looked over at Danielle, who was looking at herself jump rope in the enlarged mirror. Her headphones were in, and she was mumbling words to a song I couldn't make out.
Sophia let out a sigh, before walking over to me.
"Her birthday party's this weekend. Just because you're acting like a child and ignoring her doesn't mean we're not."
"Go to the party. I don't care." I mumbled, crossing my arms.
"That's not the point I was trying to make."
I walked over to Danielle and waved my hands at her to get her attention.
"Yes?" She asked out of breath, pulling her head phones out of her ears.
"Are you ready to go? I should be getting home soon."
"Yeah, sure." She responded.
"Alright. While you gather your things, I'll meet you in the locker room?"
She nodded, and I walked over to where Sophia was standing by my bag.
"I'm gonna go shower."
"Please think about what I said. You and Valorie have been best friends for years. You can't miss her sweet sixteen over something Rhyan did."
I grabbed my bag and threw my moist towel over my shoulder.
"I'll see you in the locker room."
After a quick cold shower, I replaced my sweaty gym clothes for comfortable clean ones.
I threw on a Navy blue long sleeve baggy crop top that had yellow marks on the sides, grey joggers that stopped above my ankles and white Converse. I pulled my hair out of my messy bun, and ran my fingers threw it a few times to give it some volume. I added some silver studs and sprayed myself so I wouldn't smell like sweat.
My phone rang and I answered it as I made my way out of the locker room.
"Hello?"
"Princess," Jake greeted.
"Hey, you." I bubbled, unable to hide my smile.
"What are you doing?"
"About to leave the gym with the girls, you?"
I was in the lobby now. I looked over at the girls who were still in the gym and let them know that I would wait for them by our cars.
"Just got home. When can I see you again?" He groaned, desperately.
I checked out of the Y and headed towards my car.
"How does tomorrow night sound?"
"A Friday night with you sounds great. Where do you wanna go?"
