As the day went by, I still hadn't caught a glimpse of the new kid.
I walked into the school, and headed for the bathroom to wash up before lunch.
After 2nd, I had a free period. Which meant that I could stay at school in the media center or something like they expected us too, or I can leave and be back in an hour like I normally do.
The good thing was that all my friends have it the same time as I do.
While I touched up on my make-up, a group of girls were gossiping. I recognized them from the popular table at lunch.
They flashed me a quick glance, before turning their undivided attention to Kayle Brown.
I wasn't low on the social calendar. I was pretty up there. So up there that I had people envy me. To be completely honest, I didn't pay that much attention to my rank, but everyone else did.
"I heard from Amanda, who has 1st with him, that he came from Cali." She gossiped to her minions.
Miranda Jones brought her hands up to her mouth in disbelief.
"That's probably why he's so tan!" A short brunette (not shorter than me) added.
"Guys, it gets better.." The tall blonde continued, "I heard from Ashley who has 3rd with him, that he's kissed at least every known popular girl from the last school he came from..at least twice!"
The girls squealed while jumping up and down.
I shook my head, and walked out just as the bell rang, signalizing lunch.
"Hi friends," I greeted, sitting at the circle table.
Valorie, Sophia and Danielle were all at the table with Starbucks coffees in hand.
"Have you seen him yet?" Sophia asked, setting down her drink.
I shook my head.
"I have!" Danielle shrieked, with a mouthful of coffee, "His lockers near mine. He's very attractive."
I took a bite of my salad, pointing my fork at her, "That's all I keep hearing about him."
"I'll put the rumors to rest. They're very true." She smiled, bringing her lips to her straw innocently.
Lunch was probably my favorite time of the day, second to free period. Not only do you get to see your friends, but you get a break from all the notes and drama for awhile.
I looked through the cafeteria, searching for an unfamiliar face. I was saddly disappointed.
"I don't think he's in here," Valorie said, shaking her drink.
"Drats."
"Are the boys missing lunch?" Sophia asked, finishing her sandwich.
"Yeah. They'll be here towards the end." Valorie said.
Like Valorie had said, the boys showed up with fifteen minutes left.
Tyler was in the middle of telling us all the juicy deats that go on in the locker rooms during football practices, when the worst person alive walked over with her minions.
Marrisa Collins and her two puppets, Taylor Jackson on her right, and Madison Perez on her left, thought they ruled the school.
They were up on the charts like I was, just not as high. Maybe it was because they were total bitches, but who knows.
"Hey everyone! Cute top Val! Loving the hair color Dani! You look flawless Sophi," she turned her attention towards me, "Hi Gabriella."
"Collins."
Marrisa and I aren't the best of friends. We've known each other since the 2nd grade. She was my first real best friend, and I hate to admit it.
All through elementary school we were like sisters. When middle school came along, our genoration forgot about cooties, and germs and begin to put two and two together.Marrisa claimed I was holding her back, since I wasn't into making out with boys as much as she was. Our friendship was no more after I refused to kiss Michale Fisher during a game of spin the bottle at one of her parties.
She claimed I embarrassed her, and I could no longer be seen with her. Which worked out pretty well for me over the years. I met the people I'm with now, and things have been better then ever.
Over the years Taylor and Madison have stuck by her side. Or they've just been kissing her ass. Same thing.
She continued to explore her relms all throughout middle school and up to this very day.
Her next target was Rhyan and she didn't seem to give up until she got what she wanted.
"Hi, Rhy," She bit down on her bottom lip, twirling a piece of her platinum-blonde hair.
"Hey Marrisa," he said awkwardly.
"So I was wondering what you we're doing tonight? We could do see that new movie, 'The Fault in Our Stars'? It came out last week, and I've been dying to watch it." She smiled with confidence.
"Tonight? I'll have to get back to you. My and Tyler were playing on going to the game down at East."
"Oh." Marrisa rolled her eyes.
"But I'll let you know though."
"Kk. Tootles!" She said to my friends. "Gabriella."
"Always a pleasure, Collins."
She walked off with her puppets following.
"She gets on my nerves," Danielle blurted, finishing her drink.
"Agreed," Valorie and I replied, simultaneously.
"Come on bro! When are you going to say yes?" Austin placed an arm around Rhyan's shoulder the ways guy do it.
He shrugged, then took a sip of his soda leaning back in his seat, "What can can I say? The ladies love me, man."
