Much to my disappointment, it was several days before Paddy could meet with me. He thought it would be sooner, telling me he had the day off the next day when he dropped Tessie off one morning (while Liam waiting in the car). Unfortunately Liam ended up needing him the next day when he was unexpectedly needed in New York for the majority of the day. Tessie spent the night that day, which was almost perfect as mom left that afternoon. I think dad was going crazy without her. I heard her calling him several times a day, making sure he was eating well and just chatting to him about whatever was on her mind. One day that included one of her alien conspiracy theories...it's safe to say that I'll never think of umbrella vendors the same way again. In any case, despite her eccentricity I loved having her visit. I think I had ignored it, how much I had missed home since moving. We both agreed she'd have to visit again soon, whether she brought dad with her or not. The girls hugged her for about fifteen minutes before she actually left and since then both Cailyn and Tessie have started saying hello to her when she calls each afternoon. I think it's great that Tessie liked her so much, she dotes on them and is odd enough (I say it with love) to be lots of fun for them. Not that I'm not fun, but I have my limits. Mom is totally up for pretending to be robots and crash into the coffee table or couch multiple times, but I don't have the patience. Besides, Tessie's grandparents live all the way in England and she'll probably see them once or twice a year at most, at least as long as she and Liam continue living here. So I think it all worked out well for everyone, something good coming of my breakdown and Liam's outburst. The outburst I'm still not convinced was completely his fault. Something is wrong with his behavior, something that couldn't just be changed by substance abuse....right? Either way I'm bound to find out soon. Paddy and I have finally set a time to meet, at a little cafe nearby tomorrow after lunch. Liam is going to be home and Paddy has convinced me to leave the girls there with him while he and I go out to talk. Since he obviously knows what is going on with Liam I trust his judgment and agreed. Liam would have to be absolutely out of control to hurt the girls, or so I hope. I also hope that there's nothing to serious or permenant wrong with him. I'm scared for what could be going on, but honestly the thing that is worst is not knowing.
