Procrastination + getting tired by the end of the day= crap update *winces*
A trip or three around the park later (they may have gotten turned around and then the girls wanted to go see one of the exhibits again...it really could have been planned out better) and everyone is worn out. The adults, tired from chasing the girls around trudge back towards the cars slowly, twilight quickly approaching. Both of the girls are being carried, their heads hanging low and drifting in and out of sleep.
"So, do you think it was alright?" Liam whispers to her as he puts his dozing daughter into her car seat. "I just wanted everyone to have fun..." he smiles down at Tessie happily.
I rest a hand on his shoulder, leaning on him slightly as I shift Cailyn's weight. "I think that the girls had one of the best days ever, I'm sure I'll be hearing about it for weeks to come and getting many requests to come back." I lift my hand and tap my lip. "For me? Hmmmmmm..." I pretend to think and a slightly worried expression flickers over Liam's face. He really is adorable.
"I had a wonderful time as well. It was really fun, I still love going to zoos and it's even more fun to watch children experiencing it. I also enjoyed being able to talk to you and Sophia, to get to know you better."
His eyes crinkle up as he breaks out into a grin that practically makes his face glow. "I'm so glad to hear that!" he says as I put Cailyn into my car. I close the door behind her and give him a brief hug and throw a wave to Sophia, who is already in their car. It really was a great day.
