It started off as quiet and normal day. Tessie got dropped off and the entire morning was spent trying to make the perfect paper flower. The girls were cutting and arranging construction paper, then drawing on it, gluing it together with my help and lastly attaching to some string to create a banner to hang as decoratation in the dining room. The floor and table was covered in pieces of paper and it was a mess, especially when Cailyn decided it would be a good idea to try to use the glue alone (unforunately I didn't have any stick glue and it was the kind you have to squeeze out of the bottle) and she ended up getting it all over herself and Tessie's pants. So we had to pause our craft so I could give Cailyn a bath and change both the girls' clothes. Then we ended up eating lunch in the living room since it had gotten pretty late in the morning already and the dining room wasn't available to use.
After we've finished we return to our work, the banner only half done so far. It's filled with flowers resembling roses, daisies, and any other type of flower we can imagine. Thus far, Tessie's look the best. With my help with the tricky parts hers come out looking much more realistic (or as realistic as a flat piece of paper colored in crayon can look) than mine. Art was never really my thing, but perhaps it's hers. I've wondered, she's such a quiet little thing and has lots of curiosity. I was wondering when something specific would take hold of her interest. It was one of the reasons that I decided we would be decorating with some crafts in the first place, I wanted to see if she would enjoy it. Cailyn's passion so far (I expect it might change as my job aspirations ranged from becoming a rock star to a gymnast to an equiestrian to who knows what else) seems to be with animals. I honestly think she may be asking Tessie to beg me for getting a dog or puppy but that in the end it's really only her that desperately wants it.
About twelve flowers and an hour later my phone rings, making me jump. I check the caller ID as I bring up to my ear to answer it. "Paddy?" I ask surprised. "Is everything alright?"
"No...it's actually not. I'm sorry, but you need to leave your house." he is breathing hard and sounds like he's running while talking to me.
"What? Why, what's happened?!" I grab Cailyn back from trying to dump nearly the entire contents of a glittler bottle onto her flower. My mind races through posibilities. "Is it something with Liam?" I honestly don't know what else he would call me for.
"Yes, something has set him off. You need to get out of your house. I think that's where he is headed."
"Is he-" I pause for a few seconds to try to think of a way to best say it. "Is there any way to reason with him or is he...violent?"
"I don't know, honestly Isabella. I need you to leave your house until I can catch up with him and talk to him. Please." his voice is raw and pleading. "Please go somewhere with the girls. Please."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Alright. I'll go...I'll go to the park or the library nearby and wait there until you've caught up with him." I tell Paddy. I honestly hope that Liam wouldn't do anything, especially with Tessie present but I honestly can't know. He's not himself. I honestly don't think he knows what he's doing when he begins to get angry, even though he might know why he's angry. I feel like whatever it is has become blown up bigger, like he might be mad about it but it snowballs into something so that he has to physically act on it. I may be wrong...but it's something that I'd been thinking over. It doesn't make since, any of it. And I hate it. But what can I do about it really? It's the medicine and possibly a mix of alcohol along with them. And apparently he still needs to be taking them. So what can I do... I take in a deep breath. I can't think about it now, god knows it's been hanging over me every since I found out. "How long do we have to leave do you think?"
