How to write a terrible fanfiction!

Abusive families

Okay now this may be triggering for anyone in an abusive home.

Okay so this is my little rant on abusive families in fanfics.

Abusive homes are usually unintended. The abuser doesn't mean to do it but they occasionally hit, throw objects at, etc to the abused person.

That is unless it's sexual abuse, then yeah, it's fully intentional.

Another thing is, when it isn't sexual abuse the victim usually still loves the abuser. I know people with abusive home lifes or people that have been abused in the past. Hell, my father was verbal abusive and as much as I hate to admit it, I love him.

I get sometimes there are mean drunks, I have another friend who has an alcoholic mother who hit her sibling. She still loves her mother, she hates her too but she loves her.

I have a very bad relationship with my dad. He expects me to be perfect, wants me to be the perfect Catholic schoolgirl, needs perfect grades. He yells at me, he really only focuses on my school life. I still love him.

Another thing, if it really is a case where the kid is hated, the parent sure as hell wouldn't treat the kid to nice clothes, a smartphone, a laptop.

If the kid "bought" the laptop, fine but explain it.

Maybe the abuser gives the kid money to buy clothes.

But no, nobody under 18 can pay for their own smartphone. Service is expensive as hell, not to mention the cost of the fucking phone.

Please be realistic good fanfic writers.

One last thing. If this kid can afford to go to a meet and greet, the parents paid for it. It's expensive as fuck.. Like maybe if you had a job and saved up for a year... But if you saved up that much you would probably buy something more useful. Also, how the fuck would you sneak out?
