How to write a terrible fanfiction!

Crossovers

If you want to make your fanfiction annoying as hell, include several fandoms.

There are exceptions. I was reading a Death note fanfic like forever ago. It included cameos from Fairy Tail, Naruto, Bleach, FMA, tons of popular animes and it was great. It was just an occasional easter egg.

I mean like having a Jalex fanfic and Eren Jeager shows up out of fucking nowhere. Yes this is a thing. It has happened.

I was also read a YouTuber fanfic when I was like 11. The main character ended up with Calum from 5sos. WHAT THE FUCK?!

I understand comedy crossovers. A great example is a trilogy of Team Crafted and My Little Pony crossovers. Minecraft and MLP. It was a hilarious series. But when you're doing it for serious plot in a serious book annoying as hell.

If it's a self-insert then that's fine as well. Wanna send yourself into Doctor Who? Sure

Acceptable crossover (Cameo. These can sometimes be great): The Walmart checkout line was shirter then I expected. I looked at the cashier's nametag. His name was Shane Dawson. I smiled at him as he bagged my stuff. I left the Walmart happy.

Annoying Crossover: Eren Jaeger looked at the new recruits, Natsu Dragneel, Justin Bieber, Rick Astley, Paris Hilton, Mario, Dean Winchester and the man simply known as The Master.

Good Crossover (A book that is intended to be a crossover fic.): Fluttershy looked down at her hands, hands? What the hell. Above her stood an undeniably perfect man, there were bright lights but Fluttershy failed to notice the massive crowd.

"Wh-where am I?" She asked quietly.

"Somehow you're at my concert. I'm Frank."

Fluttershy looked at the crowd and then ran.

Another form of crossover, a rather good one (this is targeted at the bandom) is having multiple real-life characters appear in a fanfic about a celibrity. An example would be maybe a frerard fanfic where they go on tour together and maybe Panic! joins them for part of the tour. But be realistic, Megadeth probably wouldn't tour with One Direction and Paramore probably wouldn't tour with Snoop Dogg.
