Let's start with what Stockholm syndrome is. Stockhome syndrome is when a captive, hostage, etc. forms an emotional attatchment to their captor. In most cases, they go so far to say they love their kidnapper and will not press charges in the court of law.
YES. Stockholm syndrome exists. YES. It's a real thing.
NO. Your character will not expirience it immediately.
It takes a certain kind of character AND kidnapper for stockholm to happen.
Your character has to already be lonely. They need to feel like in their everyday life, they're uncared for and insignificant. Your kidnapper has to be at least somewhat sympathetic. After a while, at least 7-8 chapters depending on the length, your character should start to feel like their captor is taking care of them and 'loving' them.
They begin to have an attatchment, maybe they have sex a couple of times. It typically takes at least a month before a captive begins to show signs of stockholm.

Now I don't know how to explain this but victims of rape can also show signs of stockholm. I don't know how so it you write that, please do your research. I won't read your story though... Sorry people that write rape fics. Not my cup of tea.....
