Common punctuation/spelling mistakes

So. This has got to be the single most annoying thing you can do with you fanfics to people like me.

Their, there, and they're is number one.

If you're attempting to write a shitty fanfic, mix these up.

Their: possesive
The dog ran into their yard.

There: a place or position
The dog ran over there.

They're: they are
They're looking for the dog.

NEXT! When you are quoting someone within a quote DO NOT do this. This is the proper way to do it.

"And then I was like 'OH MY GOD YOU DOUCHE!' and he was all like, 'You cheated on me you bitch..' and I said, 'So? I can do whatever I want.'" The bitch said to the random person who didn't care.

Other punctuation mistakes.

Comma splice properly:

Gerard, a sex god, flirted with Frank.

How you should do it:

Gerard a sex god flirted with Frank.

APOSTROPHES:

An apostrophe means it is possesive

Do: My son's are great.

Don't: Date Ryan Ross. RYDEN IS LIFE! What were we talking about? Oh yeah.

Don't: My son's car is awesome, I'm jealous.

NOW HERE'S THE CONFUSING PART!

Its and it's

In this case, when used properly, "its" is possesive. "It's" means it is. Mix these up constantly and everybody will hate you.

Other spelling mistakes.

Effect and Affect.
Accept and Except.
Advice and Advise.
Conscious and Conscience.
Lead and led.
Than and then.
To, two and too.
Where, we're and wear.

OH MY GOD! YOU'RE = YOU ARE! YOUR = BELONGING TO YOU! IT IS NOT THAT GODDAMN HARD TO REMEMBER! STOP IT! JUST STOP! IT MAKES US WANT TO KILL YOU! I SWEAR SOME OF YOU DO IT TO PISS US OFF!
