So I'll give you a couple of examples of good, bad, and unrealistic descriptions.
Good: Her dark red hair cascaded down her back in the intricate French braid that signified her. Her sharp green eyes darted down the alley, flecks of silver and gold dancing in the dim street lamp. She could feel her heart racing through the skimpy white tanktop she wore, her thin lips panting softly from adrenaline. She was confident despite her short stature, she could and would get away this time. Sweat dripped from her heavy brow onto the ground, the tiny dripping sound startling her as her paranoia kicked in.
Avoid. This is a step by step on BAD fanfiction. Avoid this.
Same situation, bad: The girl slipped into the alley brushing her sticky red hair out of her eyes. She had green eyes and a thin mouth, her forhead heavy but not just from sweat. Her hair pulled back in a braid and her white tank top showed her small height well.
For this option, be a tryhard.
Unrealistic: Her beautiful green eyes scouted the alleyway. She tangled her fingers back in her perfect French braid despite the fact she was running for her life. Her perky, kissable lips were parted slightly as she inhaled a sigh of relief. The tank top that accented her petite body so well hadn't a speck on it.
This is for your hated yet somehow perfect character.
Here is a setting description.
Good: Avery stepped into the crowded schoolhall. It went silent as she was sighted. Whispers echoed throughout the crowd about her weekend. She wasn't sure how it had gotten around so fast but it did. She ignored it and nade her way to her locker.
Bad: Avery walked into the quiet hallway to find her locker.
Unrealistic: As Avery stepped out of her class into the hallway, the school erupted with laughter. Insults flew at her; whore, slut, cunt but she dismissed it, walking to her locker with her head held high.
