It was nerve wracking, having so many eyes on me. Normally, I would have tripped over my words, making an absolute fool of myself. I didn't like speaking in front of large crowds. Hell, I didn't even like speaking in front of Lucian's pack. Now that I was in front of people who shared the same power as me, I liked it even less.

"You're going to raise an entire graveyard on your own?" The blonde guy from earlier spoke up, raising his eyebrows in a way that told me he didn't believe I could. And that was where the problem was. While it seemed everyone from the United States believed I could, the remainder looked skeptical.

I nodded. "How much do you know of me? I mean, besides the shit I'm sure Adler told you."

He shrugged, trying not to smile when Adler shot me a look. "I know you're part vampire as well. But I don't believe you'd ask all of us here just to stand by."

"That's exactly why I called you here," I said. "I don't flaunt my abilities, but I know every ability has a setback. I'm pushing myself farther than I have ever done before. And like I told Adler, if I lose control over any of the bodies, they will have my power and my blood, and you'll be able to take control over them without expelling any of your energy or blood. It was the best way I could think of to limit casualties."

One of the two females from Japan tilted her head. "And where will we be?"

"Fortunately, the area my mom is being kept at is surrounded by forest." I grabbed the map Merlin gave me and held it up. "Depending on your range, depends on how far you will need to be from the house."

Kieran, Lucian, and Kyler watched from the back of the group, silent as ever. They listened on, and I knew when bits of my plan concerned them. Like when I said I was going in alone, and that my only real backup were the dead people who wanted to help. There was a lot that could go wrong, but there was more that could go right.

Adler looked at the map in my hand. "How far is this place?"

"An hour." I handed him the paper. "I understand if you decide if you don't want to help. I don't know how many people live in that house, nor am I sure I can even say you'll be safe. I'm trying to limit casualties by bringing the dead in with me, but if there are multiple vampires there..."

"How about you leave a few of the dead with us?" A male in the back spoke up. "Like two or three per person, if you're so sure you can hold that many."

I wasn't sure. To be honest, I wasn't even sure whether the visit to the graveyard with Kieran was a fluke or not.

I knew he was testing me. I knew it was his way of trying to make me feel like less than what I was. While annoying, he had a good point.

I nodded, despite my better judgment. "I'll give them my energy and blood and you can control them. That should work."

I hoped it would work. It would be easier to do it that way, rather than having control over the ones not actively doing things.

"Is there a way for us to communicate through this," Adler asked, handing me back the paper.

Thankfully, Lucian had already agreed to let us use his stash of earpieces and microphones to divvy up among the necromancers. He had Kenna on the way with them as we spoke. She'd hook everyone up, and we'd be on our way.

"Lucian was kind enough to allow us to use his microphones and earpieces." I nodded towards Lucian. "He has someone bringing them, and she'll hook us up before we leave."

The sun was setting. By the time we got there, it would be dark enough for us to park the cars at the edge of the woods and trek to the house. There was a graveyard about a mile from the house, where I'd attempt to raise however many bodies agreed to help me.

Lucian looked down at his phone, then excused himself out of the room. Moments later, Kenna came in with a bag. Her eyes found me and she beamed.

"Hey, you sexy piece of mix-breed." She kissed my cheek, even as I stood there trying to figure out what the hell she just said.

Lucian leaned against the wall near me. "Kenna..."

"What?" She pouted. "Kenna can't share with the big bad alpha and his sentinel?"

Ah, I almost forgot.

Wait.

I shot a look at Lucian. "She knows?"

"Oh, the whole pack knows, love." She shimmied her shoulders. "Pretty sexy, if you ask me."

Lucian's lip quirked.

I ran a hand over my face, knowing without looking that the necromancers in the room were trying to speculate what exactly she was talking about. Before they could, though...

"How do you guys feel about groups of three?" I turned back towards the necromancers. "There's twenty one of you, so there'd be seven groups. One person in each group can have an earpiece and microphone set."

Without verbally agreeing, they all looked at each other, forming their groups.

"If you want to, you can figure out who from each group gets the set and you can follow Kenna into the kitchen for her to set you up." I motioned to Kenna, who was already heading to the kitchen.

"Fucking all three of them, huh?" Adler's voice was quiet as he walked by, making sure no one else could hear.

I raised my eyebrows at his back. "Jealousy doesn't become you, Adler."

He looked at me from over his shoulder, grinning. "Not jealousy, just an interesting image."

Then he disappeared around the corner.

Trying to piss him off wasn't any fun when he didn't actually get pissed off. And why did that seem like a friendly exchange, rather than the hostile one we normally shared?

I looked at Kieran and he bit his lower lip, smiling slightly.

Once everyone was set up, I turned to them as Kenna finished placing my earpiece in. "You all can go to the entrance to the forest. I'm going to do the raising near there, and meet you there."

"I'd actually like to watch." Blonde guy again. "I came here to see something cool. Sitting outside waiting to see if you lose control seems rather boring."

"I agree with Silus," the girl next to him said. "We can choose our dead person bodyguards from there, no?"

Most of them nodded their heads in agreement. I didn't really want to be watched when I raised the graveyard, mostly because I didn't want any of them to realize, or remember, why I was disliked so much within the United States necromancer group. Most of the necromancers from the United States only knew about me from the ones I showed my powers to all those years ago. Most of the group had no idea.

I forced myself to smile. "That's fine."

By the look on Kyler's face, he knew it wasn't fine. But I gave him a quick nod before turning.

It wasn't the time to get nervous or frightened. I needed to get my mom.

"Also," I said before everyone could load up in their cars, "if you see my mom, I need to know exactly how she is. Don't sugarcoat it."

They all agreed to tell me how my mom was if they were the one to see her first. I just hoped none of them would lie.
