She sits near the window,
scribbling small sketches in her notebook.

Long dark hair lightly falling past her chin,

neck,

shoulders.

The teacher draws on with her boring lesson but no one pays her attention. The happy sun shines through the glass shadowing colorful prisms onto her face and around her.

Illuminating her beautiful angles,

cheekbones,

Small nose,

Slight smile.

Scribbling in her note book as the teacher draws on.

"And the last group for the project...Mia and,      Bri."

God no. The universe set me up.

Set me up to fail.

How can I do a project with the soul most beautiful god sculpted being I've ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on.

Earbuds in. Music drowns my thoughts.

Singing louder,

Louder,

Louder.

"Hey can I sit here?"

The bus is crowded, always is. I move closer to the window for the girl to sit not even looking up to see her face.

Colors pass as the driver keeps going.

Blues,

Greens,

Grays.

"Omg!! Do you want to see what my boyfriend got me for our anniversary?"

The girl shrieks with joy.

My heart

Drops

There she is sitting so gratefully beaming with joy and beauty gushing over a man.

I should've known.

Should have known how she talks of our community,
how she boats of him.

So proud.

But I can't help but still love the pretty girl in biology Class. Who scribbles pictures in the margins of her notebook. The sun shining happily upon her face. I can't help but continue to love her even if I know I should let go.
