Today is Thanks Giving morning. I get up, excited, as I practically run downstairs with a big smile. On the couch, grandma, pa, sis, and bro are playing monopoly.
"Hey grandma, I see you're winning. I knew you've always been great at monopoly!"
"Yo pa, I see you're trying your best to win! It's not working!" I chuckle kindly.
"Sis, how fun is it to beat bro? I can see you're enjoying yourself."
"Yo wassup bro, try beating sis and I'll beat you up." I whisper to him.
"I'll just go and check up on ma. Be right back!"
I walk down to the garage basement and see mom's working on something to make again.
"Ma I told you-" my voice cracks as I continue talking, "to not touch the sharp objects. I'm scared you'll hurt yourself."
I smile sadly as I walk back to the living room.
Portraits of them are all I talk to. After all, it's been my everyday routine.
Imagining my family is alive, imagining they are with me on Christmas.
Imagining I have someone.
Imagining I'm not alone.
