Death at doorstep – so funny, it seemed
The people were scared – but I had dreamed
Dreamed of shreds and widowed lands
Of suffocate holds and shredding stands
Of misery laughing and loneliness
Of scoffing mouths and shaking hands
Of pointing snickers and bombed homelands
And yet, I seemed so far away
My mind astray, astray, astray
