During dinner that evening, Spencer gets a text from Isla. Isn't it midnight for her? He can't look at it until later, though. 'Cause, ya know, it's family time.

While I'm thinking about it, I ask mom about Savanna. "Have you talked to Savanna at all recently?"
She looks at me with curious eyes. "No, I haven't. Why do you ask?"

"I was just wondering how she was doing earlier. I hope she and Declan are still kicking and haven't had anything tragic happen to them."

"As far as I know they're still happy and doing very well. Have either of you wanted to message her?"

"Spencer said he would, but it doesn't seem he has yet."

"Of course not. Serena, would you message her?"
"I don't even know if she'd remember me, but I'll try."

"I'm sure she remembers you, I wouldn't worry about it."

"Fine, I'll go message her right now." I hop off the chair and march my way up the stairs into my room. I grab my phone off my nightstand and walk back downstairs before sending a message. I sit next to my mom as I open my messages and click on Savanna's contact. I type 'Hey, Savanna. Just wanted to check in and make sure you guys are doing well - it's been a while since we've last talked.' and send it. "Now, we wait."

Waiting's never been my strong suit. They always say that patience is a virtue, but I don't have a lot of it, so... is it really?

Spencer gets up and goes to get his phone too. I watch for the little bubble on my message app, hoping for an answer from Savanna. Spencer comes back down, smiling at his phone. "Isla?" Mom and I ask, jinxing each other.

"Isla," he echoes. "She convinced her mom to come and meet me."

I swear, if Spencer wasn't so much of a guy, he'd be squealing in pure excitement. I'm sure he is internally though. "That's awesome, Spence. I'm so glad you'll get to meet your soulmate in person." Mom cooes.

"Wait, let me text her back real quick." He types something into his phone at lightning speed, still smiling.

"What'd you say?" I ask, totally trying not to pry.

"Oh, you know, just an 'I can't wait to see you' and 'Do you know when you'll be here?'."

"Figured. Good question to ask though." I'm still waiting for the little speech bubble on my phone from Savanna. Spencer nods in response as he says goodnight to Isla. It's still late for her even if it may not be for us. "I'm assuming she doesn't know when yet?" Mom looks over at him.

"They'll go over that tomorrow."

"Come on, Savanna, answer me..." I mumbled. I was starting to get a little impatient. Mom looks at me. "Is she not responding?"

"It could still be early enough there that she hasn't seen it, but," I start, "I'm pretty sure she'd be up by now."

"Do you have Declan's contact?"

"Most likely not. I never had a chance to meet Declan, remember? Every time I had a chance to I was either busy with something else or he didn't stay very long," I recall.

"Oh yeah, that's right."

I nod in response. I send another text to Savanna: just a simple smiley face to bump it up in her notifications. I finally see a message bubble pop up. "That did it!" I exclaim. "She saw it."

"Yay!" Mom celebrates with me. "What'd she say?"
The second she finishes saying that, Savanna's text pops up on my screen.

"She said, 'Hey, Serena! Great to hear from you. Declan and I are doing very well and we're very happy. I have big news to share with you guys very soon, but I'm trying very hard to keep it a secret until I can visit. I'm shooting for next weekend! We're working very hard to be able to make this happen.'" I read. "'I'm glad you checked in on us now, because I was about to message you to see how you guys were doing. Actually, speaking of news, have either of you met your soulmate yet?'"

I have to respond now, don't I? "Just tell her, Serena."

"Fine, I will. May as well."

I respond with 'Glad you both are doing well! I can't wait to hear about this big news you have to share with us. I'm sure it'll be great for you guys. As for soulmates...' I send that, and then start another text. I like to separate things in their own bubbles. 'Spencer has found his, but his world isn't in full color yet as she lives overseas, in Wales. Just like you and Declan! He will get to meet her soon as long as things go according to plan.' I send that, and send yet another bubble. My texting style is probably a little annoying. 'As for me... I haven't yet. It has been very hard to run into mine and my world is still completely black and white. According to Spencer, though, I'll be meeting him soon...' Aaaand... send.

"Okay, and now she's all caught up."

"Good. I might call her later after she's done texting you," Mom says to me, but it seems to be to no one in particular.
"How much later? It's already getting late here, too."
"Touché, Serena." I giggle in response to that. "Probably within an hour."

"Sounds good to me," I yawn. "I'm going to head up to my room and probably talk to Evynne and the girls for a while. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Let me know if Savanna says anything."

"Okay, sure. Goodnight, Serena."
"'Night." I walk up the stairs.
