Spencer and Isla both applaud. "Thanks guys, I really appreciate the love."
"You're so talented!" Isla praises. "You need to share that voice with the world."
"I know... Just wish it was easier."
"I'm sure you'll figure something out."
"I think I'm gonna be done playing for the night. It's starting to get kinda late." I yawn. "I'm exhausted, too."
"You're right. I think it is a good idea to be done, too. You've had a long day, Rina." Spencer chimes in.
"You guys have, too! I'm not the only one who's dealt with a lot today."
They give me a weird look. "But not in the same way. In a totally different way. You know?"
I'm just digging myself into a deeper hole. "Never mind. You guys know what I mean." I laugh awkwardly, trying to lighten the mood. They join in the laughter, making me feel a lot better about my comment.
I stand up, going to put my guitar back on its stand in the corner of my room. "Do you guys have any plans for tomorrow yet?"
"I'm thinking we might go see a movie or something." Spencer looks over at Isla. "Would you want to join us?"
"Only if you'd like me to. I don't want to be much of a burden to you guys. It's your weekend. Not mine."
"We know that."
"Well, I guess if you want me to come along, let me know like an hour in advance."
"Mmkay, sounds good. It's ultimately your decision though, Rina," Spencer sighs, "we just want to make sure you're happy, you know?"
"And I don't want to rub my bad mood on you guys," I frown, "don't you understand that?"
"We do," Isla says, softly, "and we want you to have a good weekend, too."
"Okay, well. Even if you have to pull me along in the end, I guess it'll be fine."
"Yay! Glad to hear you're in."
I tug at my lips for a smile and manage to pull one off. "Well... Guess we'll talk later."
"Sure thing. We'll leave you to your guitar."
And they turned and left my room, awaiting the next day to come along quickly.
