The next morning comes and I'm even more excited for the day to begin. I get to see two of my favorite people today! I quickly go through the notifications on my phone (nothing there, as usual), and get myself ready for the day. It's going to be another long one, but it'll be so worth it. I grab my phone and text both Lance and Evynne the same thing: 'When will I be seeing you today?'

After sending it to them, I head downstairs and into the living room. My mom was sitting on the couch, looking at something on her phone. I wave to her and hope she responds. She looks up at me. "Good morning, Rina."

"Morning." I wander into the kitchen, raiding the pantry. I fix myself something to eat and go sit down next to my mom. "Whatcha lookin' at?" I ask, snooping over her shoulder.

"Savanna posted new pictures of Harpy," she says, turning her phone towards me, "he's so cute."

I look at the pictures in front of me. "He looks like he's having the time of his life!" I smile as she pulls the phone back toward her.

"Any updates on when Lance or Evynne are coming over today?" she asks me, switching the subject. I haven't heard my phone go off since I texted them, so I can only make an assumption.

"No. Haven't heard back yet. But maybe they're trying to surprise me." I shrug.

"But... they don't know each other, do they?"
"Not that I'm aware of." I look down at my phone in my hands. "It is still kinda early for a response from Evynne."

"Still, nothing from Lance, though?"

"Not a thing." I shrug again. "But maybe I'll hear back soon."

And there's a knock at the door. "Maybe that's one of them?" I stand up and go to open the curtains to see who it is. "...Aaand it's Evynne. She really decided to surprise me, huh?"

I go to the door and open it. "Morning!" she exclaims, rather chipper.

"You're up early."

She shrugs. "Thought it'd be nice to surprise you and have some time before Lance gets here... He is still ... not ... here, right?"

"Haven't seen him. Or heard from him yet this morning."

"Is he ready to perform for me? Or better, are you?"
"I'm ready. And as far as I know, Lance is too."
"Good! Can't wait to hear you two sing."

"Can't wait to introduce him. I think you two will get along."

"I hope so."

I smile at her response. "Are you excited?"

"Definitely." She walks into my house a little. "Good morning, Kate!"
"Good morning, Evynne. It's great to see you," my mom says to her, "how have you been?"

"I've been doing great. How about you?"

"Meh, it's been pretty crazy around here lately," she answers. "I feel like I haven't been able to catch a break."

Evynne laughs. "I bet. Did Serena tell you that I found my soulmate a few months ago?"
My mom pauses, taking a moment to consider the question. "Did she...?" She looks over at me, hoping I'd answer.

"I didn't get around to it, Evynne. Sorry."

"Oh! No worries." She looks back over at my mom. "So, yeah. I found my soulmate a few months ago. His name is Liam."

"He didn't wanna come with you?" She teases.

"He's busy." She shrugs. "His family does a lot around this time of year."
"That makes sense."

Spencer walks down the stairs only a few moments later. "Good morning, sleepyhead," I tease.

He rolls his eyes at me, coming over to sit with us. He ruffles through his hair, even though it's still already a mess. "Hi, Evynne." He makes eye contact with her.

"Hey, Spencer. Good to see you."

"I heard you found your soulmate."
"I did!...You told him, Serena?"

"He asked." I admit.

"What, did you not want me to know?" Spencer asks.

"I don't care, really," she laughs, and he joins in.

"Tell me about him."

"Gladly!"
