Two pages into a novel questions packet later, which only takes me an hour, I'm done for the day. That was interesting - I'm surprised I did as much as that. I place that back into its folder, and then back into my bag for the next day. Obviously it's not 100 percent done, but it's about a quarter done now. Progress is progress! Spencer beckons me out of my room after he finishes talking to Isla (hey, it's been a while since he's talked to her! They've both been busy!) as mom calls us down for dinner. I get to stuff my face with food now!
Sorry, that was corny. But seriously, food.
I head down the stairs toward our dining room. I look at my mom, who's setting the three plates down on our table. I smile at her, sitting in my seat. She's heard of Lance, obviously, but she doesn't know he's who I've been texting for the past few weeks. I should probably tell her about him at some point, huh?
Today, maybe? I look down at the table at the plate in front of me.
No, maybe not today. I'll leave it as a surprise for the future.
We had an interesting discussion during dinner. We started off talking about how school was going (which is normal for us), and then it went from that to Spencer gushing about Isla (...also pretty normal, not gonna lie), and then all the spotlight went on me. "So, Serena, has the world found you a new soulmate yet?"
It's weird how everyone has this gut feeling that the world's just going to accept someone new into my life. Do they know something I never learned?
Is it really true that this happens when you lose your soulmate early and I've been misinformed the whole time?
'Cause if so, someone has some explaining to do.Anyway, I basically just said 'not yet'. That's the truth, isn't it?
