"Are you guys sure this will work...? I haven't used my legs in so long.. A-And what if it doesn't work..?"

Junsung and I worked together in the tech lab to upgrade Jean's legs for him.

Renjun already completely healed the injuries he sustained to them, so now we're practically giving him better ones to replace what he lost.

"Don't worry Jean. I'm confident that this will work. However, it'll take some time to get used to them since you haven't been able to walk for so long. Think of it as your rehabilitation, except it's completely free~"

I confidently reassured him as he laid on the operating table.

He actually just woke up not too long ago. Junsung and I have been working for hours to make this work, and we had to put him under some anesthesia for a bit so he wouldn't feel any pain.

Basically, the new legs we made for him are more like prosthetics if anything. We performed an actual operation on his legs to connect small cables, circuits, and such to all of the nerves, which in turn would connect to the prosthetics themselves. That way, it would be a whole lot easier for him to control them since they're actually connected to his body and nervous system.

Furthermore, thanks to Junsung, they give him different choices of mobility besides just running, walking, or anything of that sort. And I think they really suit Jean's style~.

"Aaaaand, they should be ready. Everything seems to be operational and properly connected. All mobility softwares are good to go, and everything else is in order as well"

Junsung informed us, making sure everything was in order on his interface.

"So... How do I get them to work..?"

Jean asked as I carefully helped him sit up.

"That's easy~. Your new legs are connected to your nervous system like your last ones. This means you can control them with your mind like you did for your old ones. Pretty soon, you'll have gotten used to them and you'll be able to use them without even thinking about it, just like you do with your arms"

"Oooh, I get it"

He seemed a lot more eager now, and gently hopped down from the operation table.

However, he seemed so surprised that he almost stumbled and fell right after he landed. But I managed to catch him before he actually fell.

"Are you alright?! Did it hurt when you got down?? I should've helped you get down more carefully... I'm sorry.."

"N-No, that's not it. It's just... I can feel the floor..."

He confessed, unsure about how he should be feeling.

"Wait, really~?!"

"I...can! When I lost my legs before, even though I could still feel pain in them, I could never feel the floor under my feet. But...now I can~"

He held onto my arm and decided to take a few steps forward.

And to his surprise, he was actually walking~.

"No way... Dude, you guys did it~!"

"I told you it would work~"

"I was happy to lend dad a helping hand to get your legs back for you hyung~"

Junsung smiled, approaching the two of us.

But as soon as he got close enough, Jean suddenly hugged both of us at the same time, accidentally tripping in the process.

"Thank you...so much.."

He sincerely thanked us, expressing just how grateful he was.

"It was our pleasure~"

"Don't mention it hyung~"

We both reassured him, happy to see that he loved our gift to him.

"Oh but wait... Won't they get messed up in the rain...? And...what about my wheelchair..?"

"Not to worry~. The parts we used are completely waterproof, and these legs are actually wirelessly connected to your wheelchair. There's a special button on your left leg near your waist that'll release a signal to call your chair, and it'll immediately rush to you. And since your legs are connected to your nervous system, you can control it with your mind now as well~"

Junsung explained.

"Also there are new special mobility features that your legs give you, but we'll go over those in due time when you get used to their normal functions. Additionally, you can still wear pants and shoes if you want~"

I added.

"I see.. You two really thought of everything with this. Regarding clothing, I might just wear pants and not shoes for now. I really like how my feet are looking now, so I think I'll show them off. This is just so cool~"

Jean happily examined every nook and cranny of his legs, and seemed really happy with their material and design.

It really warms my heart to see such a genuine smile on his face. He wanted this for so long, and I'm so glad that we could finally give it to him.

"Let's go show the others then~"
