"...How many times is this going to keep happening? First, we got separated from dad when he sent us away. Then, we had to live without him for six months after Yuta-hyung took his disks. And now, he's been stripped away from us again and we don't even know if he and the others are alive or not... Over...and over... Over and over and over and over again! How many times is dad going to be taken away from us?! At this point, we save him only to get separated again! Why?!"

"Xinrei, please calm down! It's true that we don't know if Renjun is still alive, and the same goes for Force 127, Doni-hyung, and everyone else... But...that doesn't mean that there isn't a chance that they're all still alive! We just have to work together with the guy that was kind enough to save us. Renjun knew he was there, so it's a possibility that he's someone that we can trust"

Tristin did his best to calm Xinrei down, but it didn't work.

"Calm down..?! Not even dad could've known where he came from, and not even he knew his name! He may have saved us, but we still don't know a damn thing about him!"

"My name is Xian. And I have my secrecies for a reason"

The one that saved them had been listening outside, and suddenly made his presence known as he sat on the ledge of an open window.

"It's true that you all know nothing about me or my origins, but that doesn't change the fact that I jumped in to help. It also does not change the fact that I've been tracking Tony down for a while, waiting for him to strike again"

"If that's the case, then why did you just sit around doing nothing until the last second?"

"You could've easily confronted us first, and then handled him with our aid. But instead, you just sat on your ass and let it happen"

Jeno and Mark scolded the latter, highly upset with the events that had just unfolded.

"That may be true, but keep in mind you know nothing about him, and I know him exceedingly well. His power is unlike anybody you have ever faced before. And I don't mean that figuratively, but literally. Not only does he have a set of powers that are incredibly powerful and difficult to combat, but he also has another six strong set of powers that don't belong to him. If we were to face him now, we'd all be doomed in mere seconds. That's the only reason I saved you all last minute, to ultimately avoid conflict. I could've just left you all to die if I wanted to. Would that have been something you all preferred I had done?"

Xian didn't falter and scolded all of them for their complaining, causing the main ones to fall silent.

"...Hear me well. I don't want to or mean to be rude, especially since I know and respect everything you've done as heroes. But complaining about this outcome when it could've ended much worse isn't going to help our situation. I'm on your side one hundred percent, and I'm willing to help you save your world and everyone in it, that includes Renjun"

"..What do you have in mind?"

"This place is called the Prophetic Kingdom for a reason. It's not only my hideout, but it also possesses a little secret. Within this palace, I am able to look into various events of the past. That includes everything experienced within your history. Of course, your history starts with Taeyong and ends with the most recent events that took place. But that's not all. Tony is still alive and is ultimately trying to change the events of the past. He knows that you're all still alive and will attempt to kill you all by changing the past. But with my help, we can travel to each point in history he's trying to change. We might be able to find out how to stop him completely along the way. But I can't do it alone. I'm asking...as an ally. Will you help me save everyone?"

They were all silent for a short moment, but as if to answer their question, Xinrei stood up and approached Xian.

He held his hand in front of him, and they immediately shook hands. But just as Renjun did with Tony, Xinrei felt a spark between them when they came into contact with each other.

"Let's save everyone together...by going back to the start"

This has been a sneak peak of Effect: Back to the Start~.

I've been planning this trilogy from the moment I started writing this book. I've got a lot in store for it, and I'll begin to publish chapters soon~.

This is now the second completed book in the Effect series, and I had a lot of fun writing this sequel. However, the next book will be the final one in the series. It may be the end for it soon, but there will be plenty of other great books to come that aren't a part of this series. Once again, from the beginning to the end, I'm very thankful for all of your support.

I've had so many amazing experiences with this book, and I hope to have even more experiences with you all in the trilogy~.
