Marriya's POV

*2 Month Later*

Some people say that no matter how deep a tragedy in your life affects you, it will always get better. No matter how deep the cut is, it will always heal. Those people are wrong. Yeah, sure, time has helped a little in numbing the pain of losing my parents, but it does nothing the change the countless nights I lay awake in the middle of the night; sobbing my eyes out. I would give anything if I could just say goodbye.
"Marriya, let's go!" Ellington calls, snapping me out of my trance like state with a few knocks on my bedroom door.
Sighing, I slide off my bed and follow him downstairs.
"Ell?" I ask as I climb into the passenger seat of his car.
"Yeah, Mar?" he replies, backing out of the driveway.
"What's going to happen to me?" I question softly.
"What do you mean?"
"You and Rydel are getting married soon and she's pregnant with your baby. You'll move in with her, but where do I go?"
"Mar-"
"You're the only family I have left, Ell, and I really love you. Please don't send me back to Toronto."
"Marriya, you listen to me," he says. "It took me 16 years to get you back. If you think I will ever let you go again, you're wrong. Me and the Lynch's are your family now, and I promise you we will always be there for you."
"Where am I going to go?"
"At this point, I think Rydel is going to be moving into our house. You are more than welcome to stay with us, or you can move in with the boys. I'm sure they wouldn't mind at all."
"Thank you, Ellington," I whisper.
"Believe me, Marriya. No matter what the situation, I would never send you back to Angela's. Ever."
"You're going to be a really great dad, you know that?"
"I hope so," he murmurs. "I'm taking Del for her first doctors appointment as soon as we shoot this video, so I guess we'll see what happens."
"Ell, she's practically glowing. You don't need to worry."
"I hope so, Mar. If all goes well, we're telling the fans tonight. About the engagement and the baby."
"Let's just get through this video, then we can worry," I say.
Within a minute we are pulling into the parking lot of the pier. Wrapping his arm around my shoulders, Ellington and I walk over to where the Lynch's are standing with the director.
"Good morning," the director says. "Now that we're all here, let's get to it. You've already recorded the vocals for the song, correct?"
"Correct," Riker confirms; handing over the flash drive.
"Perfect. This shouldn't take too long then. I need the five of you over to wardrobe and makeup right now. Once you're finished there, meet me by the instruments because we're shooting those scenes first."
Ryland moves to my side, wrapping his arm around me as we start to walk in the opposite direction. After slipping my hand around his waist, I rest my head on his shoulder.
"It shouldn't be like this," he murmurs.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"We should be traveling, partying, and counting down the days till we graduate. Instead, we're paying bills and taxes and learning how to live without our parents because they're gone now. It's not fair."
"They're not totally gone, Ry. Everything we lose comes back around in a different form, especially the things we love."
"But they're not around, and that's the thing. Without my parents there, I feel like instead of going in to every fight with backup, I'm going into every fight alone."
"You'll never be alone, Ryland. You will always have people who love you. You have Alana, your brothers, Rydel, Ratliff, and me. You'll always have me."
"I don't think I will be able to handle losing anyone else," he whispers.
"If there is one thing loss teaches us, it's what things are truly worth. I will never take any of you for granted ever again. I love you, Ryland."
"I love you too, Marriya."
"I think they're starting," I say. "Let's get back."
"Okay he whispers, resting his head on mine as we walk.
"Okay, R5, lets see what you got," the director yells.
After looking at each of his siblings in turn, Ross begins counting, "5, 6, 7, 8."

"When I got the news today
I didn't know what to say.
So I just hung up the phone.

I took a walk to clear my head,
This is where the walking led
Can't believe you're really gone
Don't feel like going home

So I'm gonna sit right here
On the edge of this pier
Watch the sunset disappear
And drink a beer

Funny how the good ones go
Too soon, but the good Lord knows
The reasons why, I guess

Sometimes the greater plan
Is kinda hard to understand
Right now it don't make sense
I can't make it all make sense

So I'm gonna sit right here
On the edge of this pier
Watch the sunset disappear
And drink a beer

So long my friend
Until we meet again
I'll remember you
And all the times that we used to...

... sit right here on the edge of this pier
And watch the sunset disappear
And drink a beer
Drink a beer,
Drink a beer.
Yeah"

"Beautiful! Let's do it one more time!" the director calls out.

.

"Okay, R5, that's a wrap!"
"We'll see you guys later!" Ratliff calls out as he leads Rydel towards his car.
After shutting her door, he moves to climb in the driver side. The engine roars to life, and it only takes seconds for the car to disappear up the road.
"I'm going to go call Emily," Riker announces. "I'll just be a minute."
"Rik, she's not gonna answer," Rocky calls out. "She's gone again, Man. I'm really sorry."
"She kissed me, Rocky. Does that sound like the kind of thing a person will do if they're over you?"
"She's shaken up, that's all. Give her some space, and if she's going to come back, she will."
"You don't know what you're talking about," he grumbles. "Now leave me alone while I call her."
"That girl is going to be the end of him," Ryland murmurs.

Rydel's PoV

My heart thuds rapidly in my chest, beating so loud in pretty sure Ellington can hear it too.
"Babe, it's going to be okay. It's just an ultrasound," he murmurs reassuringly.
"What if something's wrong with her?"
"Her?" he questions.
"I just have this feeling. It's a girl, I'm sure of it," I say.
"When will we know for sure?"
"About two months," a man says as he walks into the room. "When you come in for your next appointment."
"Hi, there" I smile.
"Hello, Ms Lynch," he greets. "I'm Dr Kingston, and you are?"
"Ellington Ratliff."
"Nice to meet you both. Now, let's get started."
Pulling on a pair of gloves, Dr Kingston moves to my side.
After spreading the gel across my bare stomach, a picture comes into view on the screen. He moves the wand slowly around, analyzing the image on the monitor closely.
"Oh no," Doctor Kingston murmurs, turning his full attention to the computer screen. "This is very bad."
He takes a seat at the computer and begins tapping at the keyboard.
"What's bad?" I ask. "Is my baby okay?"
"Your baby is perfectly healthy, but I cannot say the same for you, Rydel. I'll book you appointments for every kind of testing we can do here, but its more of a formality."
"What do you mean a formality? What tests? What's going on?" Ratliff cries.
"Ms Lynch, if my suspicions are correct, I'm afraid you are terminally ill."
