Epilogue

"You look beautiful," Mikayla smiles; straightening the veil clipped into my hair.
Today is January 24, 2018. After all the longing and waiting, Ross and I are finally getting married.
A tear slips down my face as I look at myself in the mirror. There are so many people that should be here with me today. Sam, Jeremy, my mom and dad, Rydel, Abby, Ellington, Ryland. I've lost so many people, but finding Ross makes everything hurt a little bit less. Still, I am so blessed to be a part of such a strongly bonded family.
I like to believe Ellington and Rydel Ratliff have finally found their happily ever after, raising their daughter Abigail together in the clouds.
Riker Lynch never did get back with Emily. Recently he has settled down with a girl named Savannah, and has his happiness back. About a month back they became parents to two lovely twin girls, Rhian and Ryleigh. It was his way of keeping Emily in his life.
Rocky Lynch has put finding love on the back burner, and has just returned from a backpack trip around Europe. He continues to make music and play it for anyone who is willing to listen.
As for Ross and I, we take things one day at a time. Falling back in love with him took no time at all, and our undying affection for one another grows stronger with each day we spend together.
"It's time to go," Mikayla smiles.
Her fingers intertwine with mine as she leads me from the room. A sharply dressed Riker waits outside, lacing his arm through mine with a beam on his face.
"You ready?" he asks gently.
Eyes sparkling; I nod my head. My heart longs for a man from my family to be walking me down the isle, but Riker is family now. He is the closest thing I have to a brother.
As the double doors to the church sanctuary swing open, I feel my heart swell with excitement. The pews are packed full of friends, family, and fans here to witness our special day. Sunlight pours through the tall stained glass windows, glints of colour lighting up the room with a rainbow glow. Purple and yellow flowers adorn most surfaces in the room, along with trails of silk and tall white candles. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life.
Becca and Riley walk down the isle first; sprinkling rose petals as they go. Mikayla and Emily go next and take their places near the alter.
When the music starts, Riker begins to lead me into the room. I lock eyes with Ross, and I feel no fear. Only excitement. I have no doubt that his arms are the place I am supposed to be for the rest of my life.
My hands are placed in his, and the rest of the ceremony is a blur. We exchange promises, vows, rings, and a kiss, and just like that I am Mrs Marriya Lynch.

Today is such a dream; the beginning of the rest of my life. The time soon comes for the first dance, and I blissfully enter the arms of my husband. Ross spins me gracefully around the dance floor as the melody of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri fills my ears. I can't help but grin as a feeling of complete bliss consumes my senses.

"Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more"

My husband's forehead presses against mine; his large hands holding my body against his. Our hearts beat against each other; bonding us in a passionate love words fail to describe. Despite everything that has happened in the last four years, I wouldn't change it for the world. Sure, times are tough, but we grow together with every passing day. We don't forget the memories made or the people lost, but we keep moving. We love with all that we are, and with time we begin to heal. That's what people do; they mend, and sometimes they end up a little stronger at the broken places.

The End.
