"Hey guys, how you doing tonight?" Ratliff yells as the five of them reach the stage.

"You all look amazing!" Rydel screams into her microphone.

"Without further ado, the song you have all been waiting for!" Rocky announces dramatically.

"We're R5, and this is 'Pass Me By'"

12 songs later, the final chord is strummed, the last note is hit, and Ratliff gives one last mighty bang on his drums. The crowd pulses with excitement, their cries echoing endlessly within the confinement of the venue.

"Hey!" Ross calls breathlessly to me.

I look up from my game of virtual air hockey against Ryland to find the five of them panting and sweaty, grins plastered on their faces from ear to ear.

"Thought we would come say hi before out interview," Ratliff explains.

"You guys were great," I exclaim.

"It didn't even seem like you were watching half of the time," Rocky laughs; a hint of skepticism in his voice.

Truthfully, I was dying of a fangirl attack inside. I have just seen R5 perform live for the first time ever. I knew I needed to play it cool, but I was about one song away from running up and dancing with some of the girls in the front row.

"Okay, R5, it's time," a man with a clipboard announces, beginning to usher the five of them towards a roped off area in a corner of the room.

"Later, Babe," Ross says, shooting me a suggestive wink.

"Go!" I laugh, heat flushing my face.

Ryland is stolen away by some fans for some pictures, and I find myself slowly wandering towards the interview. The five of them converse so easily with the lady, talking about any news of an upcoming album.

"Well, we definitely have stuff in the works right now," Rydel answers. "Our EP came out not too long ago, and I hope everyone is enjoying that."

The crowd erupts in screams and cheers of agreement.

"Your USA tour starts in less than two weeks. How do you feel about that?" The interviewer asks.

"I'm so pumped!" Rocky cheers. "It's gonna be great to be back on the road!"

Ross' eyes finally meet mine, and I feel like we are alone in the room.

"I'm sorry," he mouths.

I say nothing, my face remaining expressionless. I don't understand why he didn't tell me he was leaving. He had so many chances, but he kept it a secret. They all did.

"How about you, Ross?" The lady presses.

"It's bittersweet," he replies. "I love traveling, meeting new people, playing shows, all of it it great."

"What's the bad part about it?"

"One of the most important people in my life might not be with me."

Gasps rise from the crowd, but none of them hold quite the same tone as mine. They just want to know who he is talking about. Mine holds so much more.

"And who might that be?"

"My sister," Ellington answers boldly.

The sea of people erupt into a mob of yelling, screaming, an questions.

"What do you mean, Ratliff? You're an only child," The interviewer continues after security has gained control of the crowd.

"Actually, I'm not. I have a 16 year old sister named Marriya Hannah Ratliff. She has just recently become a part of my life, and it has probably been the happiest week of my life."
