Marriya's PoV
As we cross the threshold of my front door, I feel Ross's hand brush against mine. Two times. Three times.
Glancing over, I see his deep hazel eyes peering into mine intently. I silently nod my head, not trusting my voice. I completely broke down up there. I never thought I would ever tell anyone what happened. I know one day Ross will have to know, but I'm just glad he isn't pressing me.
I am torn from within my head as Ross slips his hand into mine. Our fingers intertwine, and butterflies erupt in my stomach. My heart races at this simple gesture; my chest filling with warmth. How can he do this to me?
We walk into the house, not letting go of one another for even a second. Fear hits me harder then I ever though possible as I realize how much I depend on Ross. I've only know him for less then a week, but the hold he has on my heart is immeasurable. Just having my hand laced together with his fills me with a hope that maybe things can get better. Maybe I can move on from the pain of the last 8 years of my life. Maybe I can begin to live the do over I have been given at life.
"Hey guys!" Ryland calls from the family room. "In here!"
The strong scent of pizza wafts in from the other room, causing my stomach to growl.
"Hmm," Rocky murmurs as we walk in. "Do me and Riker want to join your twerk team?"
"HELL YEA!" Riker cheers.
Ross and I flop down on the couch, each grabbing a slice of pizza.
"Oh, Marriya, we made you your own Twitter account. Username is 'marriyar5'" Ryland informs me, handing me a paper with all the login information.
"Thanks," I reply.
"Umm, Ross," Rydel asks. "Where did you get that black T-shirt cut into a tank top thing with the American flag design?"
"Forever 21," he answers, taking a huge bite of pizza.
"Ratliff, favourite pair of shoes?" She continues.
"Zebra print converse," he replies through a mouthful of pizza.
"Who was that girl with you at the mall?" Ross reads.
"Damn it," Riker says. "It's happening already."
"Game on," Rocky smirks, snatching the phone from Ross and beginning to type. "Marriya."
"That's it?" Ratliff questions.
"Yup," he replies, popping the "P".
The same question soon floods everyone's notifications.
"Who is Marriya?" Ryland reads aloud.
"She's Marriya," Rocky replies, hitting tweet.
"You can't do that all night," Riker says skeptically.
Turns out, he can.
"What's Marriya's last name?" Ratliff reads.
"The name that comes after her first one," Rocky types.
"Okay, last question," Rydel announces after a good four hours of answering questions.
"Hmm," Ratliff hums. "Here's one, 'Do you want to come over to my house and watch a Harry Potter marathon with me'"
"Sure! We can wear exciting pants too!" he types back.
Just as he tweets it, Riker's iPhone screen is captivated by an incoming call.
"Hello," he asks.
"Hi, Mom! Hi, Dad!" He cries a few seconds later, putting the call on speaker and setting the phone on the table.
