I talk to Atticus after the door closes behind Reia.

"I don't think we should train her. She doesn't trust nor like us so once she can control her power nothing is keeping her here. It's too risky."

"She knows too much and I won't kill an innocent girl for having a temper," Atticus insists.

"She is hardly innocent. A, her power responds to anger. It's so dark, you don't feel it like I do. I'm afraid she'll be too powerful once we start training, even for you." My friend runs his hands through his hair.

"Let me get this straight, you're asking me to kill someone because she might be strong? You're just confirming that she'd be a good ally."

"Or a vicious enemy! This is our family we're talking about." Atticus blinks at my harsh tone. I'm usually calm and reasonable but he is not listening to me.

"You mentioned nothing would be holding her here. Let's change that. Let's make her feel welcome here, safe. Take the training slowly and she won't want to leave by the time she could."
